1 - College is the new cosmopolitan nu-disco outfit of David Grellier. His album features works with Minitel Rose, Electric Youth, and Anoraak and he is also founder of the record label Valerie. College, in Grellier's words, was an attempt "to synthesize into my music the emotions of my childhood" and was greatly influenced by American 1980s pop-culture, "80's soaps and an aesthetic which I particularly like: color, images, silvery films and the sun – images of Los Angeles, Chicago and all of the other cities that [...] continue to fascinate me."

In 2008, College released the album Secret Diary, alongside the EP Teenage Color.

In 2011, the collective released a second album Northern Council. The same year, College's song "A Real Hero" was used in the soundtrack of the film Drive becoming a charting hit in France reaching #26.

In an interview to magazine Tsugi, David Grellier said he was influenced by "nostalgic music", by the band Daft Punk, and artists like Alan Braxe, Fred Falke, Lifelike, Jacques Lu Cont (Stuart Price), Nicolas Makelberge, DJ Falcon, John Carpenter and others.

When I was younger- being able to drink a lot seemed so cool to me. "Oh you can't drink anymore? Cmon wussy". I took the jokes too seriously when my friends probably cared more for my health. Also, it's so easy to indulge in the vibe (and addiction/temptation). Feel like I intrinsically knew/felt the damage but I made excuses to take it further. Bad ideas! Better way to make memories.

I know no one asked + L + ratio but hopefully some random gets some insight from this. What a terrible incident for Danny and his family :( i don't think anyone else is to blame though. I imagine no one at that college would have thought/hoped this would have happened to him.

People have freedom to decide, and Darwinism dictates weakness be culled. Yeah a highschool student that went to my school was allergic to alcohol. They slipped some vodka into her orange juice and she was completely unaware. She became very intoxicated and drowned in her own vomit cause no one checked on her. She died of suffocation and multiple organ failure. Things like this shouldn't be taken lightly and charges to the full extent of the law should apply to anyone involved.

I’m 21, finishing up college. Was at a hall of residence in 1st year where obviously there’s booze everywhere and even in the “non alcoholic building” it was quietly rampant. I refused to give in to peer pressure and play drinking games, which truly is just a euphemism for alcohol abuse. I hardly drink now. I used to a lot then but after a scary experience of lacking control after 6 well-filled glasses of wine within two hours I decided to give drinking up. I’ve never been fully drunk but just seriously tipsy. Always have water and food with alcohol. It’s so sad that young students glorify drinking and voluntarily abuse their bodies for the sake of “fitting in”. I feel amazing, but it’s sad that people admire you for saying you don’t drink only to subtly build peer pressure and ridicule you if you don’t participate. But if that happens then you’re hanging out with the wrong people. Your body is your temple guys (I know it sounds kinda tacky but it’s true), you’ve only got one.

True. But its important to make sure the teens actually realize the risk of both death AND and lifelong handicaps for doing things like this. I think the risk of getting crippled for life should deter just about anyone. A group can have high tendencies to abuse, use, and treat you like a bag of garbage and won't even mourn for your death. It's not just fraternities or sororities. I am in a fraternity and hazing is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. I am very happy I joined because of the fun activities and fundraisers we do together and it is a safe space to just spend time with the boys. It is disgusting to see these kids leave a pledge OBVIOUSLY in critical condition unsupervised without help. And in the first place, letting it get to that point is unacceptable. Although everyone should know their drinking limits, it is also a responsibility of upper years and older brothers to keep a look out for their less experienced friends. What an awful, tragic event. I go to the university of Missouri. This is so common it’s ridiculous. I know about 5 people that have died of drug overdoses. I heard about this case but it was like last year. Sadly this is just one of many. That poor guy

It’s so wild that they continued their hazing ritual despite cameras. To me, that means they knew there wouldn’t be repercussions (or none severe enough). I’m sure this isn’t the first party the frat has had there, and I know alcohol consumption on campus is against many university policies (people of course still do it) so you’d think that alone would warrant some type of action from administration.

Edit: feel the need to add that I am not trying to take away from the tragedy that occurred. It really is heart breaking what happened to him. The “my God” was more a “my heart breaks to hear that” my God. As a mother and teacher, I really try to stress the importance of never being afraid to walk away from a bad situation verses feeling the pressure of staying because “you’re in too deep”. When I was in high school and in band, we did some initiations but we kept it fun. I can’t imagine ever taking it to this point. One of the things we did was, because we did an overnight camp, was wake the freshman up early, give them a bunch of ugly clothes and had them do a fashion show during breakfast. It. Was. HILARIOUS. They all took it up a notch and the guys put drag makeup on, the girls brought their inner kings out, they had such a blast. The rest of the day, they were sleep deprived but that’s it. This degree to basically end someone’s life can never be ok or accepted.

This is really sad. Almost makes me want to cry. I commuted to college while living with my parents and barely had any friends, mostly spending my time reading in the campus library (I’m a nerd lol), but seeing stuff like this honestly makes me grateful. I almost died when I was 16 from hypothermia and alcohol poisoning. All my friends left me at the place we were drinking because my gf at the time was there... all 120 lbs of her and 190lb me. She couldn't get me over the fence we climbed to get in and thank God she called my parents without my consent. My parents brought me to the hospital and the doctors told them if i was outside 30 minutes longer I would have died. If it weren't for her I wouldn't be here right now

It's better for young adults to experience their first drink at home under parental supervision so they learn to recognize their drinking limits, and learn how to manage their intoxication do that they'll be better equipped when they do go out drinking in the real world.

@@_Just_Another_Guy I agree, I don’t understand who’s fault it is then if it’s not his and anyone who supported alcohol to a minor, but with that said he was well old enough to know what it was and illegally consumed it and well… consumed so much he’s brain dead, it’s not the other guys fault he drank that much nor is it there fault they took the time they did to get him to the hospital, parents should be lucky the boys even cared that much they could’ve all went to sleep and he’d probably be dead currently.

He probably felt sick but he either didn’t want to let his friends down, was peer pressured, wanted to be on their level, didn’t want to seem like he cant handle his alcohol or all of the above. It’s simply peer pressure… nvm the idiots dropping him on his head. It’s 💯 the fraternity’s fault

@@_Just_Another_Guy thing is tho no matter how much ur educated on alcohol if ur social surroundings & the social network around u is pressuring u it’s very common to give in especially as a guy because of toxic masculinity making men think they not manly if they can’t handle their alcohol. I’m pretty sure it was peer pressure. I mean I understand wanting ur friend to be as drunk as u but to pressure anyone into taking a substance leads to exactly these types of situations even mentally disabling ppl for life. He probably didn’t want to be called the p word for not being able to handle his alcohol & thought he’d just vomit or pass out. Not knowing everyone’s body is different & u need to do wats right for u not wat makes ur friends n social surroundings happy. Bec that’s exactly what happened here

Honstly it's a struggle to say no especially as a young adult. There's days I feel lonely because I'm not doing things like most of the people in my 20s but then I hear stories like this and it reminds me why I don't do these things. Teach your kids about toxic and manipulative relationships even with friends sometimes it not always about fitting in people can brainwash you.

Literally isn't. Im 16 and whenever someone offers me a drink or any substance I always decline it. Homie in the video just weak and look where that got him. Saying no isn't hard.

@@pins849 Its called conformity bias, he feels to go along with everyone else because he wants to fit in. He wanted to join the fraternity and seeing everyone else go along with the hazing, he wants to as well. Don’t blame him, yes he partially made that decision. But that doesn’t mean anyone was liable in this situation to have a drinking game as a hazing.

Hazing is so outdated. Fraternity life never interested me, but fraternities/sororities need to see these videos to prevent unfortunate consequences like this.
