Raye first attracted Nashville's attention as the lead vocalist on a string of independent singles in the 1980s. Billed as The Wrays, the act released a couple of singles on Mercury Records in the mid-80s before breaking up. Epic Records signed Raye as a solo act in 1990. A year later, the nostalgic ballad Love, Me hit No. 1, and by 2000, he charted 21 Top 10 hits for Epic. His first four studio albums, as well as his Greatest Hits, have been certified platinum. His best-known hits include Little Rock, about a recovering alcoholic, and I Think About You, about watching his teenage daughter grow up.
One Boy One Girl

When she said, "there's someone you should meet"
At a crowded restaurant way cross town
He waited impatiently
She walked in their eyes met and they both stared
And right there and then everyone else disappeared, but
One boy, one girl, two hearts beating wildly
He smiled, she smiled and they knew right away
This was the day they'd waited for all their lives
For a moment the whole world revolved
Around one boy, and one girl
In no time at all they were standing there
In the front of a little church
Among their friends and family
Repeating those sacred words
Preacher said, "Son, kiss your bride", and he raised her veil
Like the night they met time just stood still for
One boy, one girl, two hearts beating wildly
To put it mildly it was love at first sight
He smiled, she smiled and they knew right away
This was the day they'd waited for all their lives
For a moment the whole world revolved
Around one boy and one girl
He was holding her hand when the doctor looked up and grinned
"Congratulations, twins"
One boy, one girl, two hearts beating wildly
To put it mildly it was love at first sight
He smiled, she smiled and they knew right away
This was the day they'd waited for all their lives
And for a moment the whole world revolved
Around one boy and one girl
The Collin Raye song "One Boy One Girl" tells an enchanting story of two people into a fairytale romance. The beginning of the song introduces a boy who got begged by his friend's girlfriend to meet someone special at a crowded restaurant across town. The boy agreed, and as soon as the girl walked in and their eyes locked, everything else fell away, and they knew right then and there that they were meant to be together. The chorus speaks to their love at first sight - the two hearts beating wildly, smiles shared, and the moment they've long waited for finally coming to fruition.
As the song progresses, it describes the two falling more deeply in love and getting married in front of their family and friends. And as the preacher tells the boy to kiss his bride, both of them are transported to the day they met, and they share the same feeling of falling in love all over again. The song is cleverly composed to portray a story of true love that has lasted through the ages, discovered in the most unexpected way possible, and sealed through commitment and bringing life into the world.
