In 2003 Andy LaPlegua of "Icon of Coil" wrote a few power noise/techno cross over tracks under the name of "D.R.I.V.E.". This was changed to "Combichrist" when the debut album, "The Joy of Gunz" was set to be released on Out Of Line. The name Combichrist originates from a hardcore fanzine LaPlegua made during the late 90s, with "JR Ewing" guitarist Håkon Mella.
The follow up EPs, and the clamour for live shows, sent Combichrist out on the road where they would become known for their strong and energetic performances.
Their second EP, "Sex, Drogen und Industrial", spent 7 weeks at number one in the DAC charts.
In March of 2007 they released their third album "What The Fuck Is Wrong With You People?". "Today We Are All Demons", was released on January 20th, 2009.
The band had been selected to support industrial metal band "Rammstein" for their 2009 European tour and continued to support them during the 2010 part of the tour.
August 2010 saw the release of "Making Monsters", which had full tracks available for streaming on the website, each track being rolled out for a new one. Combichrist undertook a tour in support of the new album in late 2010, with "Aesthetic Perfection" and "iVardensphere" as the support bands.
Their most recent album, "No Redemption", was released in January of 2013 in both single and 2CD versions. This album was the official soundtrack album for the video game "Devil May Cry". The limited edition bonus CD was essentially a greatest hits compilation.
March 2014 will see the release of a new album titled "We Love You", with an accompanying tour of North America starting in April. "William Control" and "New Years Day" have been announced as the support bands.
Combichrist have had much more success than many of the other acts emerging from the electronic underground and the band have become one of the dark electro scene's most popular live acts.
The roster of live members is currently Joe Letz (ex "Genitorturers"), Mr Petersen, Z_Marr (ex "Hell Trash"), Kourtney Klein (who also played drums for the reformed "Nitzer Ebb") and Trevor Friedrich who was the drummer for "Eighteen Visions" and "Imperative Reaction". Past live members include Håkon Mella, Bjoern Petersen, Syn M, Shaun Frandsen & Jon H.

Feed the Fire
Combichrist Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
what if word was ment to be said but unspoken
and I would know what lays ahead
I had everything and nothing will remain
I torn apart rest of the word
and walked into the brawl of silence
and this thoughts sense away
the dawn of a broken day
carries me away
what if I feed the fire
lined by your touch I fell behind
when a fist full of burns will .. in fire
in time we'll learn how to destroy your reflection
thought but truly my shadow was alone
I take my mask and place it in the dust
the sun burns through my shelter.
My flesh peels off.
there is nothing I can do
But embrace the pain as something new.
and this thoughts sense away
the dawn of a broken day
carries me away
what if I feed the fire
what if I'm not who I think I am
what if I am something else
what if I can prove to you
that I always been somewhere else

The lyrics of Combichrist’s “Feed the Fire” explore the concept of transformation and rebirth. The first stanza delves into the idea of what could have been and what one’s identity truly is. The persona in the song questions their own existence and wonders what it would be like to be someone else. They also contemplate the significance of unspoken words and how they shape the future.
The chorus, “what if I feed the fire,” can be interpreted as both a rhetorical question and a statement of intent. The persona ponders the consequences of feeding their inner flame and unleashing their full potential. They also acknowledge the pain and suffering that comes with the transformation process.
The second stanza is about shedding old skin and embracing something new. The persona lets go of their mask and shelter, and surrenders to the burning sensation of their own rebirth. They realize that in order to move forward, they must first destroy their own reflection and the parts of their old self that no longer serve them.
Overall, “Feed the Fire” is an introspective reflection on the idea of transformation and the emotional pain that comes with it.

What if I was never broken
What if I was never damaged or flawed
what if I was someone else
What if my true identity is different from who I am now
what if word was ment to be said but unspoken
What if there are important things left unsaid
and I would know what lays ahead
And I could see the future clearly
I had everything and nothing will remain
I had it all and now have nothing
I torn apart rest of the word
I destroyed everything else around me
and walked into the brawl of silence
And entered into a conflict with silence
and no god can heal our wounds
No divine power can relieve us of our pain and injuries
and this thoughts sense away
This thought makes sense drift away
the dawn of a broken day
A new day, one that is broken and imperfect
carries me away
Sweeps me off my feet
what if I feed the fire
What if I fuel my own destruction
lined by your touch I fell behind
Your touch has made me fall behind
when a fist full of burns will .. in fire
When a hand full of burns ignites into flames
in time we'll learn how to destroy your reflection
Eventually, we will learn how to shatter your image of yourself
thought but truly my shadow was alone
I thought I had company, but really, my shadow was my only companion
I take my mask and place it in the dust
I remove my facade and leave it behind
the sun burns through my shelter.
The sun's rays pierce through my protective cover.
My flesh peels off.
My skin is stripped away.
there is nothing I can do
I am powerless
But embrace the pain as something new.
But accept the agony as a new experience.
what if I'm not who I think I am
What if I'm not the person I believe myself to be?
what if I am something else
What if my true identity is different from who I am now?
what if I can prove to you
What if I can demonstrate to you
that I always been somewhere else
That I have always been somewhere other than here

FEED THE FIRE ( Lyrics ) :
What if I was never broken,
what if I was someone else,
what if word was meant to be said but unspoken,
and I would know what lays ahead.
I had everything and nothing will remain,
or torn apart by a single word,
a walk through the blood of silence,
and no god can heal the wounds.
IT DISSOLVES,
IT SAILS AWAY, THE DAWN OF A BROKEN DAY,
IT CARRIES ME AWAY,
WHAT IF I, FEED THE FIRE.
Lined up by your touch I fell behind,
with a fist full of bones we're bathing in fire,
In time they'll learn how to destroy your reflection,
bound by truth my shadow is alone.
I take my mask and place it in the dust,
the sun burns through my shelter,
my flesh peels off there is nothing I can do,
but embrace the pain as something new.
IT DISSOLVES,
IT SAILS AWAY, THE DAWN OF A BROKEN DAY,
IT CARRIES ME AWAY,
WHAT IF I, FEED THE FIRE.
What if I am not who I think I am,
what if I am something else,
What if I can prove to you,
that I always been somewhere else.
IT DISSOLVES,
IT SAILS AWAY, THE DAWN OF A BROKEN DAY,
IT CARRIES ME AWAY,
WHAT IF I, FEED THE FIRE.
