Upon releasing "Turn It Around" on Facedown Records in 2003, Comeback Kid began touring full-time, covering most of North America as well as Europe. They also appeared on many high profile hardcore festivals like Hellfest and Posi Numbers festival. Following the touring for "Turn It Around", Comeback Kid entered the Blasting Room in Fort Collins, Colorado to begin recording their sophomore full length.
In February 2005 Comeback Kid released "Wake the Dead", their first for Victory Records. After some long tours, vocalist Scott Wade left the band. Neufeld became the band's vocalist, and they began recording their third album "Broadcasting". The release of "Broadcasting" was followed by more steady touring, culminating with a summer long tour supporting Rise Against in North America, and their first appearance on the "Never Say Die" tour in Europe with Parkway Drive. By the end of 2007 the band was to take a short hiatus. At this time bass player Kevin Call left the band on good terms, issuing a statement regarding leaving Comeback Kid.
Call was replaced by Matt Keil who had played in Minneapolis area bands with Hjelmberg. Two more years of touring followed, with the band visiting South East Asia and Latin America for the first times.
In 2008 a CD / DVD was released called "Through the Noise" which is a line from the song "Industry Standards" off of "Broadcasting..." . The DVD is a documentary of the first 6 years of Comeback Kid. The CD is a live recording of a show in Leipzig, Germany filmed in fall 2007. A release tour in Canada followed, named the "Through the Noise Tour." It featured Bane, Misery Signals, Shai Hulud, Grave Maker, and Outbreak. While on this tour Gravemaker suffered a van accident with Neufeld in the vehicle, which inspired the song "G.M. Vincent and I" off 2010's "Symptoms + Cures".
After two years of international touring, the band spent much of 2010 writing and recording their fourth studio album, "Symptoms + Cures" which was released in Canada by Distort Entertainment and internationally by Victory Records. Two more installments of the "Through the Noise" tour followed in North America and Europe.
In early 2012 guitarist Casey Hjelmberg announced he would be leaving the band. Stu Ross of Misery Signals/Living with Lions will assume guitar duties.
Neufeld confirmed that the band is writing new material this moment, but the progress is quite delayed as the band has many touring plans at the moment. They're also planning a 10th Anniversary Show for the release of their first full-length record "Turn It Around", with their former vocalist Scott Wade in 2013.
On September 21, 2013, Comeback Kid stated on their Facebook page they would have started recording a new full-length album. Die Knowing, the band's fifth studio album, was released on March 4, 2014, through Victory Records.
On May 13, 2014, drummer and founding member Kyle Profeta announced his departure from the band, to focus on his culinary skills in South Africa.

Should Know Better
Comeback Kid Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Wasn't gonna pull the plug, had to see it through
What a bright idea that wouldn't quit
Somewhat empty but I took a healthy sip
Then I tripped when it got harder to see
In over my head and now it's hanging over me
I've only made things worse today
And everyone, everything's in my way
Are you happy, are you happy now?
Can I tip the scale?
Well maybe I'm just bound to fail
Adding insult to injury
Are you happy, are you happy now?
Adamant, adamant. Tunnel vision view
Backed up in a corner
Now I'm stuck because I should know better
Take the wrap, suck it up because I should know better
Sad to say, couldn't make the connection
A lot of build up
But it only took a second to bring this whole thing down
Backed up in a corner now I'm stuck
Adamant, adamant. Tunnel vision view
Backed up in a corner
Now I'm stuck because I should know better.
Take the wrap, suck it up because I should know better
The song "Should Know Better" by Comeback Kid showcases a feeling of regret and disappointment due to the singer's inability to recognize their mistakes in time. The lyrics imply a certain level of stubbornness and a lack of self-awareness on the singer's part, which leads to the demise of their situation. The line "What a bright idea that wouldn't quit, somewhat empty but I took a healthy sip" portrays the singer's initial excitement about an idea that ultimately turns out to be damaging. They gave it a chance and indulged in it, but soon realized they were in over their head.
As the singer realizes their mistake, they are faced with mounting challenges, where "everyone, everything's in my way". They are crippled by their own tunnel vision, unable to escape the situation they have put themselves in. The line "adding insult to injury, are you happy, are you happy now?" suggests an external force that has contributed to the singer's predicament. They express a desire to "tip the scale" and make things right, but they fear they are "bound to fail". The chorus lyrics "Take the wrap, suck it up because I should know better" show their determination to take responsibility and face the consequences of their actions.
Overall, the song represents a wake-up call for those who often let their pride or stubbornness hinder their growth. It sends a message that it is essential to recognize our flaws and take responsibility for our actions, or we risk being stuck in a miserable situation.

I've always loved the vocalist. His voice was pretty unique. Now that I listen to him... It sounds a lot better than before. Good stuff!

It's actually a different vocalist. The old one had a more old-school hardcore yell, this one has a mix of that and a king of metal scream.

Andrew (the current singer), was the nicest guy to talk to in the parking lot of the Fresno, CA show they played years ago.
I reeled him in to join my circle of friends, with a joint, which he happily obliged.
Haha
Love & respect to CK & all hardcore bands that still adhere to the laidback, "we're no better than others just coz we tour the world", attitude!

Have you ever had the chance to listen to raised fist? The warriors war is hell album is also a banger. Similar in some ways, notably hxc with a yell!!! 🤘
