Boogie Nights is my favourite movie from 1997 when I was born not only because how great it was, but also because I’m a sucker for 70’s nostalgia which it nailed with the design, costumes and of course the disco-heavy soundtrack!!

Simply put, it's one of the hottest disco/funk hits of all time. If I could take 10 songs to heaven when I pass away, this would definitely be one of them! Also, Boogie Nights was a great film, very educational :)

I’d say being on the soundtrack for ‘Boogie Nights’ helped bring it back to people’s minds, great movie and a lot of the songs from that time period of the 70’s when it’s set my parents clearly remembered listening to on the radio back in the day as kids.

I have loved this song since forever. Yes, I am a Lionel Ritchie fan big time!!! This is totally perfect and know what, every time I play this for my granddaughter she just totally perks up and starts to dance (and PS people, she's only 18 months old). I can't believe it. I say this as a lover and cultist of Rock and classical music: the work, quality and musical capacity that this song has is simply overwhelming!

When I was very young I used to listen to it at my parents' house, and mer was engraved in my mind, although it was only recently that I discovered the name of the temka and the band.

Historic first single by The Commodores in 1974. They had just come from a worldwide tour opening for the Jackson 5 in 1973 when they finally convinced Motown to release this Super Jam that lit up all dance floors nationwide. Oddly Motown was seeking a lead singer for the group and quickly went to Lionel R. who was not really a part of the group or the tour with J5. The drummer and the lead quitar player, in my opinion were very good lead singers but Lionel was given the lead nod. Go figure.

I love music that has a tech sound. This was so cutting edge for the time. It's also when TV and radio stations played the good stuff. I wasn't born at the time, however if I had been, I would have been awe struck at futuristic sounds these guys made.

"Machine Gun" has skitter -chunking guitars and effervescent synthesizer fills over a boulder -solid beat, blending some of the most commercial elements of the Crusaders, Billy Preston and Kool & the Gang.
