When You See Me
Computer Magic Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's not fair
I've got things to do I don't care
Imagine
When you see me for the first
When you see me for the last time
So spiteful
So vain
Imagine
When you see me for the first
When you see me for the last time
So open your haunted eyes
I've got another survivor in my arms
Tell me it's no surprise
You've got another answer for me
Open your haunted eyes
I've got another survivor in my arms
Tell me it's no surprise
You've got another answer for me
So raise up
Your faith
You're an animal
So just wait
Imagine
When you see me for the first
When you see me for the last time
I'm indifferent
I'm a king
Your existance is lacking
Imagine
When you see me for the first
When you see me for the last time
So open your haunted eyes
I've got another survivor in my arms
Tell me it's no surprise
You've got another answer for me
Open your haunted eyes
I've got another survivor in my arms
Tell me it's no surprise
You've got another answer for me
So open your haunted eyes
I've got another survivor in my arms
Tell me it's no surprise
You've got another answer for me
Open your haunted eyes
I've got another survivor in my arms
Tell me it's no surprise
You've got another answer for me
The lyrics of Computer Magic's "When You See Me" speak of a sense of detachment and indifference towards others. The singer expresses that their "existence is lacking" and that they are simply "an animal" waiting to be seen for the first and last time. The repetition of "so open your haunted eyes" suggests that the person being addressed is someone who is not fully present, emotionally or otherwise.
The lyrics paint a picture of someone who has closed themselves off to others, perhaps due to past traumas or disappointments. The line "I've got another survivor in my arms" hints at the singer's own struggles and the emotional baggage they carry. The insistence that it's "no surprise" that the other person has "another answer" for them suggests a sense of futility, as if nothing can truly bridge the divide between them.
Overall, the song seems to be a meditation on the difficulty of connecting with others in a world that can be cold and uncaring. Despite the singer's own sense of detachment, they still hold out hope for a deeper connection, as suggested by the line "so raise up your faith."
