The line "Lead it through a train of thought, be released and let it talk, let it go" implies that one may feel their thoughts are stuck and overwhelming, but if they release them, they can let go of anxiety or insecurities. The last line in the verse "When I'm negative, no I'm not soaking in what I forgot let it go" suggests that negative thinking can be overwhelming, but the singer can release it to move on with life.

The chorus of the song seems to focus on having gratitude for others, as well as the understanding that life can turn out better than expected. "And then I turn around to see a view I wouldn't know if not for you, Count to three, don't tell them all, how luck ran out on me like it did before" suggests that the view is of a new and positive perspective, and the singer is grateful for the person who has shown them this viewpoint. The second verse has a similar message to the first, about releasing negative thinking and not dwelling on it. "I read aloud what you have said, it's not alive, it must be dead let it go" seems to suggest that the singer is taking constructive criticism and letting go of destructive behaviors. Finally, the last two lines of the song say "It isn't love, it isn't hate, you amplify what irritates, Count to three don't tell them all, I take it better now than I did before". The singer seems to be releasing themselves from the extremes of love and hate, and is able to take criticism better than they did before.
