Since I Fell For You
Con Hunley Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When you just give love, and never get love
You'd better let love depart
I know it's so, and yet I know
I can't get you out of my heart

You made me leave my happy home
You took my love, and now you've gone
Since I fell for you

Love brings such misery and pain
I guess I'll never, never be the same, oh no
since I fell for you

Well, it's too bad, and it's too sad
But I'm in love with you
Oh, you love me and then you snub me
What can I do, I'm so in love with you

I guess I'll never see the light
I get the blues most every night

Since I fell for you
Since I fell for you

Overall Meaning

The song "Since I Fell for You" by Con Hunley is a heart-wrenching ballad that speaks about the aftermath of falling in love. The first verse talks about the consequences of loving someone who doesn't love you back. It says that when you just give love and never get it in return, it's better to let love go. Although the author knows this, he still can't get over the person he fell in love with. The second verse talks about how the person has effectively destroyed the author's life by taking his love and then leaving. He's left devastated, and everything has changed since he fell in love. The chorus talks about the pain and misery that come with love, leaving the author feeling like he may never be the same.

The song strikes a chord with anyone who has felt heartbreak and understands the pain of a love that was never meant to be. The author's despair and heartache are palpable, and listeners can't help but empathize with his situation. The lyrics are simple yet powerful, and the melody only adds to the sorrowful tone of the song.

Con Hunley has the voice for blues vocals. Relaxing music today. Just what was needed today. Second day home from the hospital. That dreaded virus finally got me. I'm back! Thank you Mikey. : )

I'm sure sorry to hear that you caught that virus Beth. I'm sure glad to hear that you are back home and recovering. There have been a lot of health care workers here in Arkansas that have it. Take care of yourself.  Mikey

Whoever hit the dislike on this great old song must be 'Inbred'. Their parents were probably closely related.. perhaps 'Brother and Sister'. They probably call their parents 'Uncle Daddy and Aunt Mama. :)
