Vakanties vierden wij in Zeist

The song, "Soms" by Conny Vandenbos, speaks about the longing to return to childhood and feeling the love and security that was present during that time. The lyrics express a desire to go back to being a young child with a vivid imagination, playing with toys and exploring the world with wonder. Vandenbos sings about looking at old photographs and remembering the comfort of being hugged by parents and the simple pleasures of spending a day at the beach. She reminisces about childhood memories including riding an autoped, wearing a Pighelmee, and pretending to cook with a toy stove.
The lyrics also present a reflection on adulthood and questioning what has been accomplished in life, as it often goes by too quickly. The song touches on the idea that life has become more fast-paced and stressful, and sometimes we just want to go back to the simpler times of childhood. Overall, the song's message is one of nostalgia and a longing for the love and security that were felt in childhood.
