Nou, even dan
Is 't echt

The song "Weerzien" by Conny Vandenbos is a sentimental ballad about unexpected reunions in a familiar place. The two people in the song meet by chance while seeking shelter from the rain, and they recognize each other from a shared past. They sit down at a table they used to share together and reminisce about old times. They discuss their current lives, jobs, and travels, but also recall fond memories of flying kites with a child named Dick. Towards the end of their brief encounter, the nostalgia becomes overwhelming for one of them, who sheds a tear and expresses gratitude for the chance to reconnect after all these years.
The lyrics of "Weerzien" are filled with poignant details that evoke a sense of bittersweet nostalgia. The repetition of "Nou" (well), the mention of a shared table and a scratched-in name, and the recognition of an old bag and ring all emphasize the familiarity and connections between the two characters. The reminiscing about flying kites with Dick and falling into a ditch show a shared past, and the reference to a busy job and travels suggest that time has passed since then. The emotion in the song builds up as the two characters share more and more memories, culminating in the tearful goodbye that suggests a deep affection despite the distance and time that have separated them.
