Fantastic record. As a 17-year-old I bought it when it first came out and have listened to it regularly ever since. RIP Conrad.

Still sounds fresh! Incredible that Con was released back in 1978. So ahead of it's time...

@John Magoulias Of course, you will. And I'm no philosopher, rather an enthusiast in the archaic sense. Fresh and timelessness are not equivalent. One implies cultural relevance, the other cannot.
John Magoulias
@Rory Redshield One of my favorite credos comes to mind- 'not worth the fight'. I will say I'm sure Andy McCluskey must be thrilled to find himself in the same dissertation as good ol' Petrarch, and that the analysis 'still sounds fresh' always annoys as being insipid music critic cliche bullshit, being that there's those who say Cobain still sounds fresh, Robert Johnson still sounds fresh, KC + the Sunshine Band still sounds fresh, etc., and direct your philosophy 301 ejaculate elsewhere.

John Magoulias if you’re going to be precise in your display of superior musicology and philology, technically no music nor indeed anything else is capable of being ahead of its time. Clearly that’s not what they meant, and I agree with the sentiment. Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark weren’t reinventing the wheel either but Organisation still sounds as remarkably pure today as it did 40 years ago. So does Hans Edlers Space Vision. The sense here being one of timelessness, or outside of time, which given that we are possibly on the precipice of stepping beyond the perspectival model as initiated by Petrarch during his ascent of Mount Ventoux in the 14th century, according to Gebser would explain why this sensation of transcendence is congruent with emotion felt in the body.
John Magoulias
sorry, but any electronic music released after 1965 is not "ahead of its time"

One of my favourites by Conrad... I'm always jealous that I didn't write Ballet Statique.

No doubt its a great album...I totally amazed to find I owned no less than TEN copies of this disc when I cleared-out my vinyl at a garage sale 'bout 5yrs. ago.
