Origin of Jenkins Stage Name--------- Jenkins felt that his real name wasn't marketable, and he changed his show business name in 1957. (Harold Lloyd Jenkins would always remain his legal name, however). Looking at a road map, he spotted Conway, Arkansas and Twitty, Texas. Thus, he went with the professional name of "Conway Twitty".[citation needed]
Alternatively, Jenkins met a Richmond, VA, man named W. Conway Twitty Jr. through Jenkins' manager in a New York City restaurant. The manager served in the army with the real Conway Twitty. Later, the manager suggested to Jenkins that he take the name as his stage name because it had a ring to it. The Richmond Conway Twitty subsequently recorded the song, "What's in a Name But Trouble," in the mid-1960s, lamenting the loss of his name to Jenkins. The flip side of the 45 RPM record was "The Purple, Purple People Eater, Eater." (The more well known version of Purple People Eater, however, now having sold over 100,000,000 copies, was recorded by Sheb Wooley.)

Sailing round in circles, Half an ocean wide
My heart would be my compass
It would guide me through
I will always find my way to you.
If I were a soldier, In some far distant land
Your face and my memory, Rifle in my hand
I will always find my way to you.
Like a lighthouse on the darkest night
Your love will always shine
And though I may have lost my way
That beacon, I will find.
If I were flier in another time and place
Floating lost and helpless
In the endless bounds of space
I do know more than speak your name
And hope would rise you
I will always find my way to you.
I will always find my way to you
"I Will Always Find My Way To You" by Conway Twitty is a love ballad that expresses the depth of love that the singer has for his significant other, no matter the circumstances. The song describes the will of the singer to find his way back to his lover even if he were a sailor lost upon the tide, a soldier in far distant lands with a rifle in his hand, or a flier lost in space. The song begins with the singer imagining himself as a sailor lost at sea, going round in circles with no clear direction. He then assures his lover that his heart will be his compass, and he will always find his way back to her.
In the second verse, the singer imagines himself as a soldier fighting in a far-off land. He pictures himself with memories of his lover and her face by his side, even with a rifle in his hand, he would not fear the bullets, no matter how they flew. Again, he reassures his lover that he would always find his way to her. In the third verse, the singer imagines himself as a flier in space, floating lost and helpless without direction. He reiterates that no matter the circumstance, his love for his lover will always shine bright like a lighthouse and will guide him back to her.
Overall, the song is a poetic representation of the strength of love and the willpower to overcome any obstacle to be with the one you love. It is a testament to the idea that no matter where life takes the singer, he will always find his way back to his lover.
