Origin of Jenkins Stage Name--------- Jenkins felt that his real name wasn't marketable, and he changed his show business name in 1957. (Harold Lloyd Jenkins would always remain his legal name, however). Looking at a road map, he spotted Conway, Arkansas and Twitty, Texas. Thus, he went with the professional name of "Conway Twitty".[citation needed]
Alternatively, Jenkins met a Richmond, VA, man named W. Conway Twitty Jr. through Jenkins' manager in a New York City restaurant. The manager served in the army with the real Conway Twitty. Later, the manager suggested to Jenkins that he take the name as his stage name because it had a ring to it. The Richmond Conway Twitty subsequently recorded the song, "What's in a Name But Trouble," in the mid-1960s, lamenting the loss of his name to Jenkins. The flip side of the 45 RPM record was "The Purple, Purple People Eater, Eater." (The more well known version of Purple People Eater, however, now having sold over 100,000,000 copies, was recorded by Sheb Wooley.)

My baby don't stand no cheating, my Babe
Well, my babe don't stand no cheating,
Don't stand none of that midnight creepin', my Babe
Lord, what a woman my baby, babe.
Yeah, my babe, I know she loves me, my babe
Yeah, my babe, I know she loves me, my babe
She don't do nothing but kiss and hug me, my babe,
Lord, what a woman my baby, babe
My baby don't stand no foolin', my babe
My baby don't stand no foolin', my babe
Well, my baby don't stand no foolin'
When she's hot there aint no coolin', my babe,
Lord, what a woman my baby, babe.
Yeah, I said my babe I know she love me, my babe
My babe I know she love me, my babe
Well, my babe I know she love me
She don't do nothin' but kiss and hug me,
Lord, what a woman my baby babe.
Oh my babe, oh my babe, yeah, my babe
The lyrics to Conway Twitty's "My Babe" can be interpreted as a declaration of the singer's trust in his lover. The repetition of the phrase "my baby don't stand no cheating" emphasizes the idea that the singer's lover is a faithful and loyal partner who won't tolerate infidelity. The line "don't stand none of that midnight creepin'" further reinforces that the singer's lover is someone he can trust, even when he's not around.
The second verse continues this theme of trust and love, with the repetition of the phrase "my babe I know she loves me." The singer appears to have complete faith in his lover and the relationship they share. He's comfortable in the knowledge that she won't stray, and that all she wants to do is "kiss and hug" him.
The final verse reinforces this idea of trust by declaring that "my baby don't stand no foolin'." The singer's lover is not one to be fooled or played with - when she's hot, there's no cooling her down. The song concludes with the singer proclaiming "what a woman my baby, babe," indicating his admiration and love for his partner.
