Origin of Jenkins Stage Name--------- Jenkins felt that his real name wasn't marketable, and he changed his show business name in 1957. (Harold Lloyd Jenkins would always remain his legal name, however). Looking at a road map, he spotted Conway, Arkansas and Twitty, Texas. Thus, he went with the professional name of "Conway Twitty".[citation needed]
Alternatively, Jenkins met a Richmond, VA, man named W. Conway Twitty Jr. through Jenkins' manager in a New York City restaurant. The manager served in the army with the real Conway Twitty. Later, the manager suggested to Jenkins that he take the name as his stage name because it had a ring to it. The Richmond Conway Twitty subsequently recorded the song, "What's in a Name But Trouble," in the mid-1960s, lamenting the loss of his name to Jenkins. The flip side of the 45 RPM record was "The Purple, Purple People Eater, Eater." (The more well known version of Purple People Eater, however, now having sold over 100,000,000 copies, was recorded by Sheb Wooley.)

You're nobody with no one to share
You'll find that dreams are your destiny
You're nobody to no one but me.
You're nobody with no lips to kiss
You're nobody with no one to miss
You'll find that dreams are your destiny
No one to all when you're alone
No one to be your very own
No one to kiss and hold you tight
No one to hold you through the night.
You're nobody without memories
But to somebody you're everything
His hope, his laughter, his destiny
And darlin', that someone is me
The lyrics in Conway Twitty's song "Nobody" paint a picture of a person who feels like they are "nobody" without someone to care for and share their life with. They emphasize the importance of having someone special to turn to in times of need, as well as the sense of purpose and happiness that brings. It speaks to the human need for companionship and how being without it can make a person feel empty and insignificant. However, even when this person feels like they are "nobody" to the world at large, they are still "somebody" to the person who loves and cares for them.
One of the interesting things about "Nobody" is how it showcases Conway Twitty's skill as a storyteller. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of the emotions and experiences of the person being described, making it easy for listeners to relate to and feel empathy for them. Another interesting aspect of the song is how it explores the concept of identity and how it can be tied to our relationships with others. The idea that we are only "somebody" when we are with someone else is a powerful one, and one that is likely to resonate with many people.
