Origin of Jenkins Stage Name--------- Jenkins felt that his real name wasn't marketable, and he changed his show business name in 1957. (Harold Lloyd Jenkins would always remain his legal name, however). Looking at a road map, he spotted Conway, Arkansas and Twitty, Texas. Thus, he went with the professional name of "Conway Twitty".[citation needed]
Alternatively, Jenkins met a Richmond, VA, man named W. Conway Twitty Jr. through Jenkins' manager in a New York City restaurant. The manager served in the army with the real Conway Twitty. Later, the manager suggested to Jenkins that he take the name as his stage name because it had a ring to it. The Richmond Conway Twitty subsequently recorded the song, "What's in a Name But Trouble," in the mid-1960s, lamenting the loss of his name to Jenkins. The flip side of the 45 RPM record was "The Purple, Purple People Eater, Eater." (The more well known version of Purple People Eater, however, now having sold over 100,000,000 copies, was recorded by Sheb Wooley.)
She's Got a Single Thing in Mind

'Cause she always was the gentle kind
She's hoping I'll hear it from a friend somewhere
She's hoping I'll read between the lines
But it comes as no surprise 'cause she told me with her eyes
So watch her untie the ties that binds
She's got a single thing in mind
She's already gone except in body
It's just a matter of time
Well I should have seen the storm clouds gathering
But he who won't look is just as blind
So there's only me to blame when my woman drops my name
So watch her untie the ties that binds
She's got a single thing in mind
So watch her until the ties that binds
She's got a single thing in mind
In Conway Twitty's song "She's Got a Single Thing in Mind", the lyrics tell a story of a woman who wants to break up with her partner but can't find the words to tell him. She hopes he'll find out through a friend or by reading between the lines. The singer, however, knows what's happening because he can see it in her eyes. The woman has already emotionally checked out of the relationship, and it's only a matter of time before she physically leaves. The singer acknowledges that he should have seen the signs but chose not to, ultimately leaving only himself to blame when she finally breaks things off.
The lyrics in this song convey a sense of sadness and inevitability. The woman's decision to leave is depicted as something that's been building up for a while, and the singer knows he's powerless to stop it. The words "She's hoping I'll hear it from a friend somewhere" and "watch her untie the ties that binds" give a sense of resignation, as if the singer is watching the relationship unraveling in front of his eyes.
Overall, "She's Got a Single Thing in Mind" is a poignant and emotional portrayal of a couple coming to the end of their relationship. The lyrics capture the sense of helplessness and despair that can arise when someone realizes their partner has fallen out of love with them.
