Origin of Jenkins Stage Name--------- Jenkins felt that his real name wasn't marketable, and he changed his show business name in 1957. (Harold Lloyd Jenkins would always remain his legal name, however). Looking at a road map, he spotted Conway, Arkansas and Twitty, Texas. Thus, he went with the professional name of "Conway Twitty".[citation needed]
Alternatively, Jenkins met a Richmond, VA, man named W. Conway Twitty Jr. through Jenkins' manager in a New York City restaurant. The manager served in the army with the real Conway Twitty. Later, the manager suggested to Jenkins that he take the name as his stage name because it had a ring to it. The Richmond Conway Twitty subsequently recorded the song, "What's in a Name But Trouble," in the mid-1960s, lamenting the loss of his name to Jenkins. The flip side of the 45 RPM record was "The Purple, Purple People Eater, Eater." (The more well known version of Purple People Eater, however, now having sold over 100,000,000 copies, was recorded by Sheb Wooley.)

She don't know how much it hurts me to hear her beg him not to go
If she were mine again I'd never let the tears fill her eyes
She don't know how much it hurts me to see an angel cry
Once she built her world around me and like a fool I tore it down
And she begged me not to leave her just the way she's doing now
Now she's begging to another with that same hurt in her eyes
I didn't know how much I loved her 'til she turned and walked away
I didn't know how much I'd hurt her 'til I say her here this way
If she were mine I'd hold her forever and dry the tears from her eyes
She don't know how much it hurts me to see my angel cry
She don't know how much it hurts me to see my angel cry
The song "To See My Angel Cry" by Conway Twitty is a ballad that tells a story of a man who regrets breaking up with his former lover. He sees her crying over another man, and it pains him to see her in such a state. He realizes how much he still loves her and wishes he could turn back time to fix things.
In the first verse, the man watches as his ex-lover cries over her current partner. Even though he ended things with her, he still loves her and cannot stand to see her in pain. He expresses his desire to protect her from tears and sadness.
The second verse reveals that the man had once been in the same position as his ex-girlfriend, begging him not to leave. He sees the hurt in her eyes as she begs someone else not to go, and he understands the pain she feels because he caused the same hurt. He recognizes his mistake in leaving her and wishes he could make it right.
In the final verse, the man realizes too late how much he loved his ex-girlfriend. He wishes he could hold her forever and wipe away her tears, but he knows it's too late. He is left with the regret of not appreciating her while he had the chance.
Overall, "To See My Angel Cry" is a song about regret and the pain of lost love. The lyrics convey a strong emotional message that is relatable to anyone who has lost someone they love.
