OUT OF TIME
Coppermine Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

See the colors flashin past and the streamin rain
so much left to do and its so fast u cant feel anything
these people places youre passin by theyll be there next time
u gotta help yourself and just make your way and youre findin u
just wanna be there on your own
and youre slowly turnin inside
soon youre out of time and it dont come back again dont let it just get away
soon youre out of time and it dont come back again dont let it just get away
gettin so much done these runnin days no time to see what youre losin
gotta go can we make it another day im holdin on but everything keeps turnin round round and round its a nother place another time you find yourself lookin back where did I go so wrong cuz
theres a voice that theres a feeling that u once had but you cant feel it any more
soon youre out of time and it dont come back again dont let it just get away
soon youre out of time and it dont come back again youre letting it just get away
where did it go its all gone where did it go those times
where did it go where do i turn this time where did it go take me back to
and youre slowly turnin inside
soon youre out of time and it dont come back again dont let it just get away
soon youre out of time and it dont come back again dont let it just get away

soon youre out of time and it dont come back again dont let it just get away
soon youre out of time and it dont come back again youre letting it just get away

Overall Meaning

The song "Out Of Time" by Coppermine talks about the fast-paced nature of life and how it is easy to lose sight of what really matters. The lyrics paint a picture of a person on the move, rushing through life without taking the time to appreciate the people and places around them. The phrase "soon you're out of time and it don't come back again" is repeated throughout the song, emphasizing the fleeting nature of time and the need to make the most of every moment.

The lyrics also touch on the idea of regret and the feeling of having missed out on something important. The line "where did it go, it's all gone, those times" suggests a sense of nostalgia and longing for a time when things were simpler or more enjoyable. The song ends with the repetition of the phrase "don't let it just get away," reminding the listener to take control of their life and not let time slip through their fingers.

Overall, "Out Of Time" is a reflective and poignant song that encourages listeners to slow down and appreciate the present moment, before it's too late.

I am crying a little bit. I lost a couple people and one of my friends who lost 40 pounds from the virus is finally on the road to recovery. This makes me so happy! Thank you so much for all the effort you guys put out. Nothing makes me happier then to learn.

Marc Kamer

When I read your comment halfway through the video I wondered why anyone would cry about this... then I heard the choir at the end and shed a tear too. Cheers!

The history of metallurgy never ceases to fascinate, thank you very much

Wow the resemblance to Francis and his 4×GreatGrandfather is uncanny! I love The Time Team! Another awesome episode! Miss Prof. Mick!!

That does seem uncanny. I have something similar I shake my head over, every time I see Stewart Ainsworth. It's probably a coincidence, but his hair is the same color and grows the exact same way as my grandfather's, my father's, mine, and my son's hair. But my last Ainsworth ancestor to be born in England was back in 1625 in Blackburn, and he died in 1680 in Massachusetts Colony. I thought when I reproduced that our child would probably have some glimmer of my husband's very curly hair, but It's as straight as pine needles.

Francis, I have Quaker ancestors who came from England to Wales, I believe the Swansea area, then to America. I never heard about the anti-slave trade connection before. Now I want to search that subject more. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing!

Grant Morrow

@Becky Black "Knowledge is power". Whether it transpires to be good or bad may well depend n your interpretation. Go for it, because, either way you will have a clearer picture of your ancestry.

@Dallas Johnson - I also noticed the resemblance, but not "uncanny" - GENETICS!

Very interesting and informative. A successful combination of information and entertainment, I'll call it.

Under the highway overpass in Denver, Colorado, is the neighborhood of Swansea, threatened again by highway enlargement. Several neighborhoods there were from the new smelters hiring huge town populations on the cheap from existing foreign places. So, Swansea provided...after awhile they wanted more money.
The city was smelting some ores that were mixed. One recognized copper producer. Usually silver and lead. Early gold.
