Hart became an instant hit with his rebellious looks, and his first album released in 1983 First Offense, featuring the hit song Sunglasses at Night. The album sold well in both Canada and the United States. The follow-up album was Boy in the Box in 1985, another very successful album featuring the song Never Surrender, which would be his highest-charting single. Hart would continue to record music, but his commercial success was significantly reduced after Box.
Today, Hart lives in the Bahamas with his wife, musician Julie Masse, and their four children.

Knock, knock is anybody listening?
Lightning in a bottle jewel of the crown
You know someday somebody's gonna love her
Their eyes met, you could say it was more like a crash
Over the bed spread Henri Magritte ate his apple
Inside her head
Torrential rains fell on there wedding day
Bittersweet, the band was -playing
Bittersweet, lovers swaying
Bittersweet shows
You don't know what you've lost 'til it goes
Television's out they're still watching "Women in Love"
Kick, kick is anybody feeling?
She digs the fig, she bites straight into his heart
Someday, somebody will adore her
They collide, they conspire, they confuse
All the mystery writers
Driving down Las Vegas boulevard
While you can't stop tasting it
Bittersweet, band was playing
Bittersweet, lovers swaying
Bittersweet shows
You don't know what you've lost 'til it goes
Bittersweet, like sugar-lemons
Bittersweet, a mystic sermon
Bittersweet, flows
Through the gates of heaven you wait for seven moons
The lyrics of Corey Hart's "Bittersweet" tells the story of a woman who comes to a man's doorstep out of the blue. They seem to have an immediate connection, with their eyes meeting like a crash. The woman is described as a lightning in a bottle jewel of the crown that someday somebody's going to love. However, their love story is not without obstacles, as torrential rain falls on their wedding day. These challenges do not stop them from being together, and they are often seen watching "Women in Love" on a TV with the sound off.
The chorus "Bittersweet" is repeated throughout the song, indicating the complexity of their relationship. The band is playing and lovers are swaying, but the song speaks of a feeling of loss, with a mystic sermon flowing through the gates of heaven. The song emphasizes the impermanence of life, and how we often don't truly appreciate things until they are gone. The bittersweet moments, whether they are good or bad, shape and define our lives.

on Blind Faith
A correction: the song was released on Hart's 1986 LP Fields of Fire, not 1990's Bang. Hart is also known for writing his own material, not co-writing his material, especially early in his career. He wrote Blind Faith solely. Lastly, Blind Faith was not released as a single and had no music video. Not sure where the facts are coming from, but really facts.
