The fire god
Corpus Christii Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

By the light of the fullmoon
We embrace the shadows
By the fire of Hatred
We torture the Light/We conquer the world
The calling of redemption
The future of worms
By night we conquer
The Heaven's our playground
Master Fire

Overall Meaning

"The Fire God" by Corpus Christii is a song that is loaded with symbolism and imagery. It talks about the power of darkness, hatred, and redemption through the use of fire as a metaphor. The lyrics suggest that under the light of the full moon, we embrace the shadows. This line may refer to the idea that the moonlight illuminates certain aspects of ourselves that are usually hidden in the shadows. We also see references to the conquering of the world through the use of hatred and the burning down of the "Light".

The calling of redemption and the future of worms seem to be linked, perhaps suggesting that the redemption of mankind is based on the idea that all humans will decay and return to the earth. The line "By night we conquer, the Heaven's our playground" could be interpreted in a few ways. It may refer to the idea that darkness is the domain of the devil, and that in the shadows we hold power. Alternatively, it may suggest that the ideas held in the song are meant to be taken as poetic expressions rather than literal ones.

Sorry but where you took that assumption?!! It`s quite wrong.
At that moment (2001) Corpus had 2 members and live session members. It`s a mistake to ignore Ignis Nox, keys and production.
But it`s an excellent work though
