Courtney Act (a play on the phrase “caught in the act”) is actually the nom de guerre of “gender illusionist” Shane Jenek. Shane auditioned for Australian Idol as himself but did not get beyond the selection auditions. Returning the next day as Courtney, he wowed the judges and went through to the semifinals. Revealing impressive voice and singing talents as well as a stage presence considerably ahead of many of the other contestants, he/she continued until being finally voted off in thirteenth place. Courtney particularly impressed judge Ian “Dicko” Dickson, who signed Jenek to the BMG label following the completion of the show.
Act gained popularity in America when she competed in the sixth season of reality TV show RuPaul's Drag Race, in which she was a runner-up, alongside Adore Delano.
Shane Jenek is a native of Brisbane but now lives in Sydney.

Only thing that really distracts me its that there is more footage of the dancers
and loads of light effects - I get it - its the Ecstasy feeling.

I honestly don't understand why people assume that drag queens must wear hip pads. Isn't it all depending on what the queen prefers? I think Courtney looks stunning in every outfit in this video, and I understand that some people enjoy hip pads on their queens, but when it comes down to it Courtney is going to continue to do as she pleases. There really is no need for some people to get flustered over whether she wears hip pads or not.
I just hope people understand the effort Courtney must've put into all of this and see that, despite her not having hip pads, the song and video are still quite incredible in my opinion. There's a difference between constructive criticism and giving rude feedback.
