In 2009 Vallesteros began experimenting with simple synth and guitar lines, gradually layering them to create the sound that would become Craft Spells.[1] After signing with Captured Tracks, the band released their debut full-length, Idle Labor, in early 2011 and went on tour with Beach Fossils.[2] The album was described as a soft, synthy, dreamy compendium of new wave music and 80s pop similar to New Order with Vallesteros' voice style sounding like Ian Curtis.[3][4]
The band's next EP, Gallery, was released on 2012. It was followed by their second LP, Nausea on 2014.

Craft Spells Lyrics

Night calls she falls for sins like an animal
Who can i trust anymore?
The woman i love falls for another
My heaven falls apart
Secretly praying you don't find love Given the time
The woman i love falls for another
My heaven falls apart
Secretly praying you don't find love
Given the time
I'll find you
The lyrics in Craft Spells's song, "Given the Time," exhibit a feeling of wanting to be loved but also pushing away from any disappointment. This is evident in the line, "Desperately wanting a life without me," as the singer is afraid of being abandoned and left alone. The next line, "Night calls she falls for sins like an animal," highlights the singer's fear of their loved one being unfaithful, which further perpetuates their fear of being alone. The singer's question of "Who can I trust anymore?" connects to this fear.
The chorus repeats the phrase, "The woman I love falls for another, my heaven falls apart," which emphasizes how the singer's world crumbles when their loved one seeks affection outside of their relationship. The phrase, "Secretly praying you don't find love, given the time," shows that the singer still wants to be with their loved one and is waiting for them to come back. The final line, "I'll find you," indicates a hope that their love will rekindle.
Overall, "Given the Time" is a song about the struggles of love, trust, and fear of abandonment. The lyrics showcase the singer's vulnerability and insecurity in their relationship, yet they are still willing to wait for their loved one to return.
