Love and loss are the two sides of a coin. No other song I can think of better captures the delirious ache and joyful yearning of loving with a full and open heart. Discovered a remaindered CD in a sale bin: The Kindness of Strangers H.O.P.E. Mildly obsessed I sought out and have continued to follow the creative output of every credited person on that album. 20 years on this has been an utterly rewarding pursuit which has brought me into contact with the favorite music of my life including this produced by Craig Armstrong. "Deliver Me" by The Beloved, Paul O'Duffy producer, via Louise Rutkowski This Mortal Coil and the entire 4AD back catalog. I honestly don't know where I'd be, musically impoverished I would, if not for that little known and criminally under-appreciated project. On the cusp of a good cry of selfish gratitude over all this music...these musicians,.. have brought to my life, an actual tear tickles my right check as an electronic wind blows over the fading piano leitmotif of this gorgeous song.

I have only heard this song in one of my favorite movies the 90s adaptation of Valmont...cruel intentions..it is so beautiful and so in line with that movie and the specific scene it plays in..it's hauntingly lovley...and really captures the feeling of longing love/lust...it's a sublime master piece
