Crazy Mountain Billies is the alias used by multi-instrumental musician and producer A.P. Bormes to describe the sound of a full ensemble that is created by the solo performer in the studio. The C.M.B. sound utilizes acoustic folk insturmentation with elements of mountain bluegrass musical style at its foundation, and then takes it out of that dimension entirely. "I can say with absolute certainty that I have rarely heard anything quite like the Crazy Mountain Billies... the playing is exceptional from this multi-talented multi-instrumentalist... all of the elements of Bluegrass, but without being classifiable as being part of that genre…"-American Roots UK. Crazy Mountain Billies was established in Montana, and now resides in Colorado.

Currently the artist is performing live and arranging new songs for a planned upcoming double album release.

All of the C.M.B. material is self-recorded, produced, written, performed, mixed, etc... The instruments used include: 5 and 6 string banjo, 5 string bass, acoustic guitar, mandolin, slide guitar, classical guitar, autoharp, jaw-harp, harmonica, tin whistle, washboard, vibraslap, shakers, cabassa, tambourines etc...

After departing Hollywood, CA and finishing audio engineering school in 2008-2009, A.P. Bormes crossed country to Montana and a recording studio was temporarily established to track the first two albums- a double release: "Don't Move Or I'll Shoot/Badlands" inspired by the rugged terrain and lifestyle of the midwest and Rocky Mountain backcountry. Shortly thereafter ''Badlands II" was also recorded and then released August 1, 2010. Then A.P. Bormes went down to the Black Hills of South Dakota and recorded ''Badlands III'' inside a remote log cabin and released the record April 15, 2011. C.M.B. spent the remainder of the year touring the Western U.S. and eventually went back into the studio to record the album ''Hit Like A Hammer" (released May 31,2012) as well as "Burn Down The Mountain" [E.P.] (released Nov. 22, 2012). Several music videos were also shot and released during this period.

I went through a lot of phases…at first I thought this was not real because it was just too much and the monsters sounded unbelievable

Then I thought it must be real because nobody would want to show up on TV looking the way they do

Then there was all of trappers stuff going on

I really wanted it to be real , but it just seemed to be over the top

But then again, look at the way they’re dressed who would show up on TV looking like that , plus one of them peed on himself

Then, there is all the weird really weird stuff

Like the woman of the woods, and all those constructions that were made … They all seemed pretty fake to me.

So I was confused the whole time I was watching it !!!

I definitely can’t say I was entertained the whole time I watched

I just wish they would be honest from the beginning whether it’s real or not

My dad use to love watching this show just for the giggles trying to work out what animal sounds were used this time. He passed away last year before the very last season aired on Discovery + the one with the Wolves. And holy shit does it have some wild af anime arcs.
There's a tournament arc with a rival hunting team.
There's an adventure arc with magical cultists.
Buck digivolves from being a rookie to a specialist.
Characters come and go, they get a sick HQ and huck becomes their comnubications/information expert.

That is only the tip of the iceberg, and if you go into detail, oh boy.... In the first season, they go after the Wampus Beast, which is killing brother Willy's hogs. They never go after it again, which means it is probably still there killing his hogs. The same thing when they go after the Ash Man. He lives in Huck's backyard for over 40 years, and is scaring the shit out of him with his massive forearms. The hunt goes as usual, a lot of screaming and falling down while the Ash Man is running circles around them and breaking sticks. The trap works perfectly and the Ash Man escapes, meaning that he is still in his backyard. The amount of rival teams cannot be confirmed. We have one team that killed the Stonish Giant. We have the team which kidnaps them led by Skeleton, and he sends them on a quest to find the Woman of the Woods, and promises them to deliver the ones who killed the Stonish Giant. While investigating, they find out that an Organization that has 12 vehicles, so let's say 50 men strong, is doing occult rituals to summon the little girl for no reason. Jeff goes double agent and infiltrates them. He meets the Boss and works for him as a bottom feeder, only to achieve nothing. And then, in the 6th season, they watch the film with the Australian Scarecrow Guy, who tells them that they have blossomed in their confusion and were throwing them into loops. He also gives them his quest to find the Spearfinger, and they do it, even though they tortured Jeff and were shoving a small skull up his nose for no purpose. As Jeff has met the Boss, it is not possible that the Organization is led by Skeletor or Scarecrow. Skeletor suddenly appears right after they watch the film, and gives them the book on Spearfinger on a silver platter. That means that Skeletor is either working with Scarecrow, or that Skeletor just recommended the AIMS team to him. While questing, Cloaked Figures start to appear who kidnap mentally unstable Jeff and try to prevent the AIMS team to finish the quest. They find the Torch that belongs to the Cloaked Figures with which they cannot see, and the Cloaked Figures are now blind, and they are probably bumbling around in the forest. This is just a fraction of the insanity that is going on, and I didn't even mention Wild Bill.

I started Mountain Monsters a while back but didn't get into it, but from how hard your video made me laugh I went back to watch it...plus I was genuinely intrigued.
So over the course of two weeks I watched 2 seasons. I just finished the second season and gave up on the show. Plot lines just start up, get built up, then never get resolved. At all. Long story short there's a bunch of material in this series for you should you ever decide to revisit it.

Mountain Monsters is a modern Greek play. You can't get the feeling of it from just one segment. It tells a story of a group of friends seeking glory who find themselves out of their depth. You should watch some of the early ones so you can get an idea of where it came from. Their old leader died and they actually bring it up on the show several times.

I love how most of the show is them losing things, going the wrong way, and falling down. I know why they never catch anything, they leave as soon as they see it. I'm just impressed with the fact that these guys are able to do all this walking. I'd get winded doing that and I'm like 200lbs lighter and 10-40yrs younger...I'm really not sure how old they are.

Hubris allows a person with great capacity to have great blind spots because they are accustomed to being correct in other ways and have the general knowledge to pick and choose in order to spin better justifications, if only to themselves.

As someone who believes in cryptids I used to watch this show when I had cable and believed it for about 3 episodes (to be fair earlier episodes were more believable), once that wore off it got so insane and I loved every bit of it. Now I feel like watching it again

I believe in cryptids, however, I feel like these shows really pull people's legs and make people believe these are non existent. For an example, the Grafton Monster. The visual depiction of it shows as a black tall thing, like a bigfoot thats a hunch back, HOWEVER, the actual sightings of this creature describe it as a **WHITE TALL CREATURE**. And as I stated before, there was this one cryptid they claimed as the "Shadow Creature". The freaking depiction is EXACTLY LIKE A XENOMORPH FROM ALIEN.

i recently met and interviewed them as peter griffin (i do impressions as my job) and they are single handedly the nicest people i think i've ever met at a convention or worked with. Super cool about doing jokes, and so on. really great dudes. And i'm having Buck on my podcast sometime soon!

I watched this show forever ago with my dad and I live near where they’ve filmed before. Obviously the show is all fake but I think the newer episodes like this one they’re just wearing it. I remember I think people finding out it was fake in the first few episodes they did of like Sasquatch and they just decided to give in and become fake in fear of losing publicity.
