[Chorus:]
I'm so glad
I'm so glad
I'm glad, I'm glad, I'm glad

Don't know what to do
Don't know what to do
Don't know what to do

Tired of weeping
Tired of moaning
Tired of groaning for you

[Chorus]

Tired of weeping
Tired of moaning
Tired of groaning for you

[Chorus: x8]

Overall Meaning

The song "I'm So Glad" by Cream is a bluesy rock tune that expresses the feelings of a person who is tired of feeling sad and hopeless. The opening lines of the chorus, "I'm so glad, I'm so glad, I'm glad, I'm glad, I'm glad" convey the singer's relief to finally feel a sense of happiness and contentment. The repetition of the word "glad" emphasizes the singer's newfound joy and is a common theme in blues music, which often highlights overcoming hardship.

The following lyrics, "Don't know what to do, tired of weeping, tired of moaning, tired of groaning for you" describe the singer's previous state of despair. The repetition of the phrase "tired of" emphasizes that the singer has reached a breaking point and is exhausted from their emotional turmoil. The line "for you" suggests that the singer's sadness was caused by a relationship that has now ended, and they can finally move on.

The final repetition of the chorus brings the song to a close, with the singer expressing their joy and gratitude for finally finding happiness. In addition to being a song about overcoming sadness, "I'm So Glad" showcases Cream's signature blues-influenced sound, featuring Eric Clapton's intricate guitar playing and Jack Bruce's soulful vocals.

This is the definitive version of a great Cream Classic. Cream were and remain to this day unbeatable raw talent. Hendrix had it with Electric church, but for sheer unstoppable blues power, I'm so glad has it by the spoonful!

No blues, rock or jazz trio has or will ever touch them. They blend it all together with mesmerizing musical artistry, emotion, technique, energy and power.

@Elsupermayan8870

What about The Jimi Hendrix Experience?

@RobHollanderMusic

I'm not sure you've explored those genres extensively enough to make that statement authoritatively.

@Rob Hollander If you're not sure of my genre explorations then you can't question my statement. Give me some names - make your argument.

This version more truer to the way they played it live than the Fresh Cream version. Wish Cream would have played more of this in the studio. They were extremely conservative in the studio and way out there live. This is why many forsake their musical talents but rest assured they blow away everyone.

@alembicbassguy

Greatest ever rock band - its hard for youngsters to put this fact into perspective but for its time ........this was jaw dropping stuff! Cream shaped modern music in so many ways.

@dlanodrelda
