Let It Grow
Cream Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Now it’s time
To say the things
As they always had to be
Don’t be mean
Say the truth
Teardrop coming from the sea
Let it go
Live your life
I don’t want apologies
Turn the lights
In your head
You will find a better man
Me estoy volviendo loco
No sé ni porque pienso así
Me veo en mi foto
Alguien sáqueme de aquí
Think about
The memories
In the night that you can’t sleep
Say my name
In your dreams
Imagine something you won’t feel
Call your friends
Jump the fence
Grab some drinks and kiss some lips
I’m your friend
Nothing else
But you can always count on me
Me estoy volviendo loco
No sé ni porque pienso así

Me veo en mi foto
Alguien sáqueme de aquí

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Cream's song "Let It Grow" seem to suggest that life can be rough and full of difficulties, but the singer is offering comfort to the listener. The first verse describes how the night can be oppressive, and the rain can be overwhelming. But the second part of the verse offers hope - if you call out for help, the singer will arrive to offer assistance. The chorus adds to this idea, with a simple plea for the listener to not let everything come down on them because they have the singer's support. The second verse is more optimistic, talking about taking a ride into the future and walking hand in hand. It acknowledges that the sun won't always shine, but the singer will still be there in the morning.

There's a clear message of support and comfort in these lyrics - the singer is offering a helping hand to someone who is struggling. The idea that someone else can help bear the weight of life's difficulties is a powerful one, and it's a common theme in many songs. What's particularly interesting about "Let It Grow" is the way it balances out the darkness and the light. The first verse and chorus deal with struggle and difficulty, but the second verse and chorus offer a sense of hope and promise. The song suggests that life is a series of ups and downs, but as long as you have people to support you, you can make it through anything.

First time I heard Cream I was stoned out of my mind on LSD lying of the floor between two very large speakers, for 8 hours. These guys are the best musicians England ever produced. All Rock music after this was just was just imitation.
