Creed is an American rock band from Tallahassee, Florida formed in 1994. Creed was prominent in the post-grunge movement of the late 1990s and early 2000s, releasing three consecutive multi-platinum albums; their second, Human Clay (1999), received diamond (11x platinum) certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Creed has sold over 28 million records in the United States, has sold over 53 million albums worldwide, and was the ninth best-selling musical act of the 2000s.
For most of its existence, the band has consisted of lead vocalist Scott Stapp, guitarist and vocalist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall, and drummer Scott Phillips. Creed's first two studio albums, My Own Prison (1997) and Human Clay (1999), were released to commercial success despite unfavorable critical reception; Marshall left the band in 2000. Human Clay remains one of the best-selling albums of all time and contained the Billboard Hot 100 number one single "With Arms Wide Open"—which also won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Song. The band's third album, Weathered, was released in 2001, with Tremonti on bass guitar. Creed disbanded in 2004; Stapp pursued a solo career while Tremonti, Marshall, and Phillips founded the band Alter Bridge with Myles Kennedy.
Creed reunited in 2009, releasing their fourth album Full Circle and performing several tours before separating again in 2012. After an eleven-year hiatus, Creed reunited once more in July 2023 and announced their headlining of the Summer of '99 cruise festival in April 2024.

2. Creed was formed in 1977 by vocalist Steve Ingle and guitarist Luther Maben. Enlisting the services of Hal Butler (keyboards), James Flynn (bass), and Chip Thomas (drums), they were soon signed by Asylum Records. Their self-titled debut appeared in 1978 and was notable for "Time and Time Again," an epic southern-style guitar workout, comparable in stature to Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Freebird." Unable to attract enough media attention, the band split up shortly after the album's release.

3. There is also a German Christian metal band called Creed. They have released at least one album called "Sign of Victory" on the Pure Metal label in 1992.

Knowing I'll be underneath them
When they crumble when they fall
With clarity my scars remind me
Ash still simmers just under my skin
Indifference smile again
So much I hide
Now I'm forced to look behind
I'm forced to look at you
You wear a thousand faces
Tell me, tell which is you
Broken mirrors paint the floor
Why can't you see the truth
You wear a thousand faces
Tell me, tell me which is you
Tell me which is you
Eerily time made no change
Pointing fingers, laying blame
Lying over and over and over and over
Deceiving your mind
Dug my grace, trash my name
Yet here I stand so you won't fade away
A different smile again
So much I hide
How is stepping back a move forward
Now I'm forced to look behind
I'm forced to look at you
You wear a thousand faces
Tell me, tell me which is you
Broken mirrors paint the floor
Why can't you see the truth
You wear a thousand faces
Tell me, tell me which is you
I bleed inside
(Wanna bleed)
Just let it out
(You gotta let it out)
Just let it out
(Gotta let it out)
I bleed inside
(Wanna Bleed Inside)
Just let it out
(You gotta let it out)
Just let it out
Just let it die
Now I'm forced to look behind
I'm forced to look at you
You wear a thousand faces
Tell me, tell me which is you
Broken mirrors paint the floor
Why can't you see the truth
You wear a thousand faces
Tell me, tell me which is you
Tell me, tell me, tell me
You wear a thousand faces
Tell me, tell me which is you
Tell me, tell me which is you
In "A Thousand Faces," Creed lead singer Scott Stapp reflects on the constant changes and hidden agendas that he has dealt with in the music industry, as well as in his personal relationships. He describes feeling trapped and confined by those around him, and how he can see the cracks forming in the walls that once held him in. Stapp also acknowledges the scars left behind from these experiences, even as he tries to move forward.
The chorus serves as a plea for honesty and authenticity, as Stapp asks whoever he is addressing to reveal their true self from beneath the many faces they have worn in the past. He laments the broken mirrors on the floor, which represent the shattered truths and illusions that he has had to sort through. Additionally, he expresses frustration at being blamed and lied to repeatedly by someone in particular.
Overall, "A Thousand Faces" conveys Stapp's desire to see through the pretenses of those around him and find genuine human connections. It speaks to the universal struggle of finding real relationships in a world that often values image and surface-level interactions above all else.
