Perhaps the most famous cover version is by Creedence Clearwater Revival on their debut album released in 1968. This song was one of their first big hits, and was the band's only Top 40 hit that was not written by John Fogerty, peaking at #11, but made the top ten on some charts.[8] The album version clocks in at 8:37. The single version is split into parts one and two. One difference is that in the single version, the jam session during the coda is omitted in part one. Instead, it fades out with the guitar solo right before the coda which fades in in part two on the B-side.
John Fogerty stated in a 1993 interview with Rolling Stone magazine that his purpose in recording "Suzie Q" was to get the song played on KMPX, a funky progressive-rock radio station in San Francisco, which is why the song was extended to eight minutes in length.
This song was later sampled in a song called "Love Me" by the Stooshe.

The lyrics of "Suzie Q" are a passionate declaration of love towards a woman named Suzie Q. The lyrics express admiration for her appearance and personality, as the singer likes the way she walks and talks. He repeatedly expresses his love for her and implores her to be true to him and never leave him blue. He wants her to be his all the time, indicating a desire for a long-term relationship. The catchy, repetitive nature of the lyrics emphasizes the singer's strong infatuation with Suzie Q.
However, the lyrics could also be viewed as objectifying Suzie Q, reducing her to solely her physical appearance and placing value solely on her ability to stay true to the singer. In addition, the lyrics don't express any specific characteristics or actions of Suzie Q that the singer admires or loves beyond her surface level attributes. It's important to note that the song was written in 1957, so the cultural and societal context of the time likely influenced the portrayal of women in popular music.
Overall, "Suzie Q" is a catchy and upbeat song that expresses infatuation and admiration towards a woman named Suzie Q. While the lyrics could be seen as problematic in today's context, they provide a snapshot of the cultural perspectives and norms of the time.
