Approaching their debut as if it is a cohesive body of work rather than a chance to splurge all their favourite tricks in one go, it makes sense that they open with delicate vocal harmonies and a bare piano, thereby introducing us gently to their unsettling world. The wonderful ‘Billy Pilgrim’ begins with a Frank Black-inspired acoustic strum, chopped up by stabs of electric guitar. A sense of entrapment drives Pete Stewart’s words but the music is so dense that his non-linear storytelling is secondary.
There’s a heroic pop sensibility to the musicianship, like the way drummer Chris Wirtalla bookends the chords changes on ‘I Wanted To Live (Die)’ with a simple punch of his toms. At times, their lo-fi folk will draw comparisons to Broken Social Scene, but there’s something more compact and focused in the way that Creeping Weeds construct their songs. ‘Our Country Home’ manages to combine the two normally mutually exclusive qualities of humour and ambition as it swishes from simple folk to a stomp where, frankly, Stewart sounds as though he’s singing in the toilet.
But here’s hoping it was the downstairs toilet, next to the garage where, in my imagination, they rehearse, hang out and watch The Year Punk Broke on repeat.

You come and ask me, girl,
To set you free, girl,
You say he loves you more than me,
So I will set you free,
Go with him.
Go with him.
Anna,
Girl, before you go now,
I want you to know, now,
That I still love you so,
But if he loves you mo',
Go with him.
All of my life,
I've been searchin' for a girl
To love me like I love you.
Oh, now, but every girl I've ever had,
Breaks my heart and leaves me sad.
What am I, what am I supposed to do.
Anna,
Just one more thing, girl.
You give back your ring to me, and I will set you free,
Go with him.
[Chorus]
All of my life,
I've been searchin' for a girl
To love me like I love you.
Oh, now, but every girl I've ever had,
Breaks my heart and leaves me sad.
What am I, what am I supposed to do.
The song "Anna" by The Creeping Weeds is a ballad about a man who is in love with a woman named Anna, but she asks him to set her free to be with another man who loves her more. The lyrics are emotional and heartfelt, with the singer expressing his love for Anna throughout the song.
In the first verse, Anna asks the singer to set her free so she can be with a man who loves her more. The singer agrees to let her go, even though he still loves her deeply. In the chorus, the singer tells Anna that he still loves her but if the other man loves her more, she should go with him.
In the second verse, the singer expresses his frustration with his search for love. He has been searching his entire life for a woman who loves him as much as he loves Anna, but every girl he has been with has broken his heart. He questions what he is supposed to do in this situation.
Overall, the song is a heartbreaking tale of unrequited love. The singer is willing to let Anna go if it means she will be happy, even though it will leave him heartbroken.

Just want to say how much I appreciate your website and videos. As a single woman, you have been invaluable to helping my lawn be the envy of the neighborhood. Thank you!!!

Hey Doc, thanks so much for the winter information. Two questions, how soon does the Negate begin to show results (compared to Image) and how long does the outdoor temperature need to hold "warmer" for the Negate or Image to work (north central Ga the daytime temperature can be 60 today and 45 tomorrow or the next day)?

Another great video! I found and subscribed to your page during late fall/early winter 2021, and I took tons of notes on all your videos. I've been following your lawn guide for Bermuda Grass, documenting everything I'm doing, and I'm excited to see the results as we enter into Spring here in Southern California. Thanks Doc!
Just Picture It Now
Perfect timing for this video Doc. Thank you! With temps in the 60's yesterday and today, I went out and got some Image for the lawn and sprayed yesterday after my route. Sunday should be a bit cooler, but back up in the 60's the rest of the week. Felt good to get out there.

I feel like this winter was particularly tough for winter weeds in this area (I’m in Greenville, SC) because early December it was in the 80s and Christmas week it was in the 70s.
Sun City Lawn Care
Great content as always. Which herbicide are you using to treat your fairway?

Hey Doc, I recently moved into a home in October. I have a sodded Bermuda lawn. Can I still treat for winter weeds and lay down pre-emergent?
Rusty Wise
Doc, is it better to spot treat if winter weeds aren’t out of control or just safer to spray the whole yard instead? I’d say my yard is about like yours at the moment.

Hi Doc, love your videos ! I got an acre of centipede grass in Myrtle beach S.C. , which lawn guide is best for me ?
