In the song "Earth," Cress presents a somber take on the state of the planet and human impact on the environment. The opening lines question if humanity will even survive for two thousand years and if they do, what kind of world will they be living in. The song then references how things only started going wrong once mankind entered the picture, highlighting the idea that the earth was flourishing without human intervention.
Cress touches upon the idea that humans reproduce to perpetuate the species, but in doing so, the earth is slowly losing its vitality. The lyrics suggest that the planet is fighting to survive, but humans are not doing their part to help it heal. The line "we poison, we rape it" is a powerful indictment of how humans have exploited and destroyed the planet for their gain.
