In 2004, guitarists Christian Bröhenhorst and Jonathan Stenger had the idea to create a band when they were studying at Hildesheim and in late 2004, singer Britta Görtz (Hiraes, ex-Critical Mess) arrived to Cripper's born. Then the band was completed with bassist Erik Hess and drummer Dennis Weber. Months later bassist Hess was replaced by Thomas Maiwald and after by Sören Becker.
In 2006 the band released their first EP titled Killer Escort Service and in the same year Cripper played at Metaldays in Slovenia. Next year, in 2007, the band released their debut studio album, named Freak Inside, mastered by musician Andy Classen from Holy Moses. Along with bands Hatred and Spectre Dragon toured at the "Triple-Thrash-Threat" through Germany. In 2008, Becker was replaced by Bastian Helwig and toured again with Hatred on "Lost World Order" tour in Germany. Cripper in 2009 released their second studio album called Devil Reveals, was present at Wacken Open Air 2009 and in spring 2010 supported Overkill on their Killfest-Tour through Europe. Later in 2011 they traveled to the Caribbean to play at the biggest floating metal festival ever, the 70000 Tons of Metal.[2]
Cripper released a third studio album in 2012, titled Antagonist. This time bassist Bastian Helwig left the band and was finally replaced by Gerrit Mohrmann. For 2014, Cripper played again at the fourth version of 70000 Tons of Metal.
Cocoon
Cripper Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And not from the ever-lasting endurance of her works
That we may expect the reign of perpetual activity
In her wide domains
In her living kingdom
The ravages of decay and death
Are eternally repaired by the birth
As lands will vanish and appear above the waters
We are alone
And under cold stone
We rot
So afraid (so afraid)
Of change
Still we serve (still we serve)
The origin of worlds
The matter saved from such mighty wrecks
Will again be available for useful ends
The forces which seem destroyed
Only assume other forms to participate
In new movements and operations
We are alone
And under cold stone
We rot
So afraid (so afraid)
Of change
Still we serve (still we serve)
The origin of worlds
I can see
A face split in a grin
And I see
A dream that did not come true
And all according to the plan
We are deer
Expected at the rear end of our own objective
All we were and are and will be
Serves the origin of worlds
Serves the origin of worlds
Serves the origin of worlds
Serves the origin of worlds
The lyrics of Cripper's song "Cocoon" explore the order of succession in nature and the perpetual activity in its wide domains. The lyrics suggest that new representatives of life are born as old ones die and that the matter saved from the destruction of the old would be available for useful ends. The song emphasizes the cyclical nature of life and death and how the forces that appear to be destroyed would only be transformed into different forms.
The lyrics also touch on the fear of change and the feeling of being alone and under cold stone, representing the sense of isolation and vulnerability that humans feel. Despite the fear, the lyrics suggest that we still serve the origin of worlds, which could represent the natural order of things that humans cannot change. The last line of the song declares that all we were, are, and will be serves the origin of worlds, emphasizing that humans are a part of nature and that they should learn to accept the cyclical nature of life and death.
Overall, the lyrics of "Cocoon" suggest that life has a cycle, and everything that happens serves a purpose in the overall natural plan, teaching humans to accept change and their place in the natural world.

I agree and I am glad I found Cripper through YouTube. I am a fan now. Do you want to hear another couple of bands? Search for Legion Of The Damned - Werewolf Corpse and also Demonfist. Thats a good start to introduce you to that band. And do a search for Goatwhore "Apocalyptic Havoc" (OFFICIAL VIDEO).
