Creating music that has one foot in the indie genre and one foot in a darker electronic realm, Crooked Colours’ sound has often been compared to a combination of English indie-rock foursome Alt J and US electronic duo Crystal Castles.
To date the band has been fortunate enough to play at Parklife, Wonderland and St Jerome's Laneway festivals, as well as sharing the stage with the likes of Flume, Grafton Primary and PNAU. 2013 also saw Crooked Colours support RÜFÜS on their sold out national tour.
Crooked Colours will be releasing their 'In Your Bones' EP featuring their hit track 'Come Down' in May this year through Sweat It Out Music! before a full Australian tour in July
Keep Your Mouth For Lying
Crooked Colours Lyrics

Trying make things right
Before we lost our minds
Fall out into the night, but you're so tired
Throw your mouth towards the light
Then your heart open mine
Show me which is in your mind
Fall out into the fire,
burn what you were holding tight
For the frightful night.
Throw your mouth into the lies
Come, let's spend some minds
Oh, I thought I had more time
Gonna lost my mind, my mind
Oh, tell me which is in your mind
Give me a moment of hope
Give me a moment of hope.
The lyrics to "Keep Your Mouth For Lying" by Crooked Colours depict a sense of urgency and desperation. The singer is trying to make amends and fix what has been broken in a relationship, but feels they are running out of time as they are about to "fall out into the night". They urge their partner to keep their mouth towards the truth and open their heart. The singer wants to understand what's in their partner's mind and begs for a moment of hope. The phrases "fall out into the fire" and "throw your mouth into the lies" suggest that the relationship is already breaking down and both parties are struggling to keep it together.
