Saints of Grey
Crossbreed Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

All my life, I remember the sight of you
The nights and nights I go back, and it burns
All my life I remember the sight of you
It burns and burns and for what?
They say we're lost, and were never found.
Your sense of, belonginf, your make-up, scrapes the face as it bleeds
The saints of gray, a reckoning, decisions, to stop, stop running away.
You say there's more to sin, I'll open the door and push you in.
This song will never change, the story of my life is the same.
They say we're lost, and were never found.
Your sense of, belonginf, your make-up, scrapes the face as it bleeds
The saints of gray, a reckoning, decisions, to stop, stop running away
All my life I blame myself, I'll blame you

Your sense of, belonginf, your make-up, scrapes the face as it bleeds
The saints of gray, a reckoning, decisions, to stop, stop running away.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Crossbreed's song "Saints of Grey" tell a story of pain and regret. The singer remembers the sight of someone, likely an ex-lover, who has caused a deep emotional wound. The memory of this person burns and haunts the singer, leaving them feeling lost and never found. The imagery of belonging and make-up scraping the face as it bleeds suggests that the relationship was marked by a struggle for identity and a need to conform.

The chorus speaks to the idea of reckoning - the decision to stop running away from one's problems and face the consequences of one's actions. The line "you say there's more to sin, I'll open the door and push you in" suggests that the singer is willing to confront their own mistakes and acknowledges the role they played in the failed relationship. The repetition of "the saints of gray" adds a sense of solemnity and ritual to the idea of coming to terms with one's past.

Overall, "Saints of Grey" is a powerful reflection on the pain and regret of lost love, and the importance of confronting one's own mistakes and learning from them.

Crossbreed is one of the best unrecognized bands out there. Call you radio station, e-mail your internet stations. Ask for there music to be played. Share the videos with your fellow metalheads. Start a ground swell, get these guys noticed.

i love the fuck out of crossbreed. ever sence there first album, they take electonic and techno and thrash it up..my only issue or wish i guess u can say is that iw ant them to be heavier, ke101 should have been more technical, heavier, and more brutal......thats what i can see this band going into that direction hopefully, i still love them though
