I bet you'd torch your house with your own hands
You'd let me break your back so you could lie in it
And never get up, never get up from it
Back into that smack
Do you know you act just like a whore
Beggin' for crack or a sack
You think you revolutionize with every breath you take
Does anybody know who the fuck you are?
Does anybody care how the fuck you are?
You're wasted now and you're gettin' on down with the disco
You're wasted now and you think you want to leave but you don't go
You're wasted now and your pants have been soiled but you disco
You're wasted now and you think there was a point but you don't know
You would take us all down with you if you would
Stab me in the back with your own hands
Never turn around to see if I'm okay
I'll always get up, get up in your face
You're one of the people everybody just loves to hate
Just a person everybody else loves to blame
You think we care
Well every breath you take just brings us down
Does anybody know who the fuck you are?
Does anybody care how the fuck you are?
You're wasted now and you're gettin' on down with the disco
You're wasted now and you think you want to leave but you don't go
You're wasted now and your pants have been soiled but you disco
You're wasted now and you think there was a point but you don't know
So what's your point?
What was your point?
You bring it back for me
Those things I thought left me
That hate, that greed that bleeds me
Become the speed that feeds me
You're wasted now and you're gettin' on down with the disco
You're wasted now and you think you want to leave but you don't go
You're wasted now and your pants have been soiled but you disco
You're wasted now and you think there was a point but you don't know
The lyrics to Crossfade's song Disco seem to be directed towards someone who is spiraling out of control, possibly due to drug addiction. The singer is calling out the person's destructive behavior, suggesting that they would sacrifice anything for their drug of choice, even setting their own house on fire. The person is described as acting like a prostitute, willing to do anything to get their next fix. The singer implies that the person's actions are bringing everyone down and causing people to hate and blame them.
The chorus of the song, repeating "You're wasted now and you're getting on down with the disco," suggests that the person is trying to escape reality through partying and drinking, but ultimately they are still lost and confused. The line "you think there was a point but you don't know" further emphasizes this sense of aimlessness.
Later in the song, there is a shift in tone when the singer asks "what's your point?" and then says "you bring it back for me, those things I thought left me." This could indicate a personal realization that the person's destructive behavior is a reflection of their own inner struggles, and the repeated line "you're wasted now and your pants have been soiled but you disco" takes on a more empathetic tone.
Overall, the song seems to be a commentary on addiction, self-destruction, and the struggle to find meaning in life.
