Buried Alive
Crown Of Thorns Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

So intent on makin' things fly
Cold blooded take any chance his given
Can't take away from Caesar his pride
He's moved into liberty's lane
Temptation has taken it's toll
Smokin' that hash since he's fifteen years old
That CC's taken his head
Still walking but he sure feels like he's dead

God bless his soul feels he's buried alive
God bless his soul he's been buried alive

Hunh, feels like a laboratory monkey
Hanging round with them crack head junkies ? yeah
It's mental suicide
Nowhere getting' wacked fools your diggin' hee
Yeah, living in a bubble
Where things just don't make sense
Well he sure don't feel like superman
His feet are still walking

But he feels like he's dead

God bless his soul he's been buried alive
God bless his soul he's been buried alive

I'm talkin' about the new salvation
Understanding still the relation
On hand at last celebration
Talkin' about defied correlation
Last stand last step
People wanna ride with virtue won't die
Been buried alive live with the right to say
Appeal the lies through manifestation
Saving you from incrustation
About living out your adulation
Day and night without reservation
Make long last your proclamation

God bless his soul he's been buried alive
God bless his soul he's been buried alive

Overall Meaning

The song "Buried Alive" by Crown of Thorns tells the story of a person who has been consumed by temptation, addiction, and mental illness. The lyrics depict a man who is hell-bent on making things work in his life, but as a result, he ends up taking any chance given to him, including abusing drugs like hash since he was 15 years old, and eventually, he starts feeling like he's dead while his feet are still walking. The man is struggling with addiction to the point that he feels like he has been buried alive.

The lyrics of the song also talk about the man's environment, where he is hanging around with crack-head junkies, and it feels like mental suicide. He is living in a bubble where things don't make sense, and he does not feel like Superman anymore. However, he is optimistic that he can make things right since the last step is the last stand, and he can still live with the right to say and appeal the lies through manifestation.

The spice merchant is kind of made out to be a jackass, but he's the only one who's completely rational throughout his time on screen. Perhaps even the most rational man there has ever been or will be.

And we all see what That gets you in this series....

True, the issue is that the spice merchant isn't even in the books. At least, he doesn't say or do anything that he does in the show. He makes a good point, but he's patronizing and mildly sexist so that puts him in a bad light to the viewer, but if you consider his words logically then they are very reasonable and actually set up danny as a bad character due to how desperate and irrational she seems in comparison to him. If not for the patronizing and sexism then danny's mad queen vibes would be much more apparent.

@Y Liang Hell I think she's a mad woman even when seeing things from her POV.

Every super rational person I've met has been a jackass. Truth hurts but doesn't care about ones feelings on the matter

Death by old age is an impossibility in this series.

Hotdiggity11

Dying of old age was typically reserved for the maesters and some of the lords.
