I Love You So
Crows Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Those oldies but goodies reminds me of you
The songs of the past bring back memories of you
I always remember the first night we met
The songs they were playing I never will forget

I always will treasure them so close to my heart
They always will haunt me although we're apart
Each time that I hear them a tear's bound to fall
For I love those memories that I, I recall

Those oldies but goodies reminds me of you
The songs of the past bring back memories of you
Forever they will haunt me but what can I do
Those oldies but goodies reminds me of you

Yes, dear, they are playin' our songs
And they will always remain our songs
And each time you hear them, I hope you too will cherish
The wonderful memories that our love once knew
For these songs are just a symbol of the love that I had for you

Those oldies but goodies reminds me of you
The songs of the past bring back memories of you
Forever they will haunt me but what can I do
Those oldies but goodies reminds me of you

Oldies but goodies reminds me of you
Oldies but goodies reminds me of you

Oldies but goodies reminds me of you

I am looking for a song that my grandparents sang to each other many years ago but they cannot remember the name or find it anywhere :( If someone knows what song this is then it would make my grandparents very happy....

So my Grandad remembers it being a ballad from 50's or 60's. He also thinks maybe it was a B side record.

Lyrics they remember are: You mean more than life to me dear, and this you should know, why i just, cant live without you, I love you so.

When the nights are cold and dark i long for your touch. Need your tender arms around me, i love you so much

This is a pinnacle point in music history 'Gee/I love you so' was the first teenage oriented True Rock n' Roll record to punch a hole through the Chart barrier of regular mainstream pop jazz country and what ever dull average parents/Grandparents music was hogging the stations of early 50's America ... Though there were others trying to break through, this was the one that really did cross over to the white and Latin American youth from black music culture and paved the way for others to follow way back in 1953 through to 1954 and when it dropped off the charts it still took 2 months for the next one to do the same and that was Sh-Boom by The Chords followed up 4 months later by Bill Haley and the Comets first RnR hit 'Rock around the Clock. By the end of 54 the floodgates were well and truly open for RnR with the likes of The Penguins Earth Angel, Elvis Presley That's alright, The Spaniels Goodnight Sweetheart Goodnight, Carl Perkins Blue Suede Shoes, Johnny Ace Pledging my Love, The Wrens Come Back my Love, The Platters Only You, and many more charting Rock n' Roll hits one after the other to create the legendary era .
