Reality
Crud Lyrics

Bang, bang, bang
Bang, bang, bang
Bang, bang, bang

Things aren't what they seem
And your mind is not your own
But a sewn, sharp thriller
Be a stone-cold killer
Are you surprised?

This is not reality
This is not reality
This is not reality
This is not reality
Bang, bang, bang

A planet, planted a billion miles away
Does it get you food when there's rent to pay?
Does it make up for the time that you spent in food lines?
Living like a freak like "I don't look like it at all"

This is not reality (Bang, bang, bang)
This is not reality (Bang, bang, bang)
This is not reality (Bang, bang, bang)
This is not reality (Bang, bang, bang)

Pistol came to class today
Pistol came to class today and pistol went bang
Pistol came to class today
Pistol came to class today and pistol went bang

And pistol went bang (pistol went bang)
And pistol went bang (pistol went bang)
And pistol went bang (pistol went bang)
Bang, bang, bang

You know you feel so lost
Your happiness bar fell
Your happiness is gone too
There's nothing in your bucket
'Cause they blew it on a rocket
It's on a rise and you look like your gonna fall

This is not reality (Bang, bang, bang)
This is not reality (Bang, bang, bang)
This is not reality (Bang, bang, bang)
This is not reality (Bang, bang, bang)

This is not reality (Bang, bang, bang)
This is not reality (Bang, bang, bang)

This is not reality (Bang, bang, bang)
This is not reality (Bang, bang, bang)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Crud's song Reality are a commentary on the illusion of reality, emphasizing that things are not always what they seem to be. The repetition of "Bang, bang, bang" throughout the song can be interpreted as a metaphor for the shock one experiences when realizing that their perception of reality is a mere facade.

The lines "Things aren't what they seem, and your mind is not your own" suggest that the world we perceive is not necessarily our own creation, but rather a constructed reality that has been imposed on us. The phrase "be a stone-cold killer" can be interpreted as a call to arms, encouraging individuals to break free from the constraints and manipulation of society.

The lyrics also touch on the idea of escapism, referencing a planet "planted a billion miles away" and asking whether it provides a solution to the day-to-day struggles of life. The lines "Pistol came to class today and pistol went bang" suggest the danger and violence that may come with seeking to escape reality through means such as weapons.

Overall, the song's message is one of warning, advising listeners to question the reality they encounter and not be taken in by the illusion presented to them.
