they're all attributed to you
like "love is just another form of cancer"
but contrary to what you might think
the list flushes down the drain so easily
whoa, watch me now
i could do my dance anyhow
and anyone can see
what the outcome of this story won't be
'cause, baby, i'm back
up in the distance there's a fuzzy figure that might remind you
turn away, it's too late
because the one laughing the hardest won't escape your brain
like a dynamite boy song, ringing true,
it will grab on tighter every single day
so keep on sitting on your hands
but i'm right outside your window now
'cause, baby, i'm back and you can raise the roof on that
round and round we go but you'll see
now who's laughing, now who's laughing
round and round we go but you'll see
now who's laughing, now who's laughing now...
please keep all hands and feet inside the car
'cause here we go
round and round we go, round and round we go
and your vacant stares
only drive me further from my weak place
'cause, baby, i'm back and you can raise the roof on that
The lyrics of "I'm Back" by Cruiserweight revolve around the theme of overcoming past hurts and coming back stronger. The singer talks about the cynical ideas they have, all of which are attributed to the person who hurt them. However, the singer notes that the list of cynical ideas that they have attributed to this person flushes away easily. The singer then talks about how they could do their dance anyhow but they wanted the person who hurt them to see it. The outcome of the story won't be in favor of the person who hurt the singer because the singer is back.
The second verse of the song talks about how the person who hurt the singer might see a fuzzy figure in the distance and be reminded of the singer. However, it's too late to turn away because the singer's presence will remain in their memory like the lyrics of a catchy song. The singer then challenges the person who hurt them to keep sitting with their hands folded but the singer is right outside their window now. The singer asserts that they are back and the person who hurt them can raise the roof on that.
Overall, the song is empowering and uplifting as it states that the singer has overcome their past hurt and is now back stronger than ever.
