Deeper
Crushed Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Memory lane catches up with you again

I really thought that you knew

How much that I wanted it too

Can you be in control, can you say my name?
Anytime, night or day,

And I feel so sad for you

Night of fire,

Sparks are falling to the ground

Forgotten and lonely again,

How do you think you fit in?

Can you be in control,

Can you stay the same?

Anytime, night or day,

And I feel so sad for you

Ya, you, ya

Can you be in control

Can you stay the same

Anytime, night or day, and I feel so sad

Memory lane catches up

And the years roll down

Can you be in control and I feel so…

Sad for you this time

As you fade into the night

And I feel so sad this time

Close your eyes, pretend desire

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Crushed's song Deeper can be interpreted as a yearning for a deeper connection with someone. The first line of the song, "Memory lane catches up with you again," is a reference to nostalgia and bringing up old memories. The singer then expresses their desire for someone to know how much they want a deeper connection, but they question if the person can even handle that level of intimacy. The line "Can you be in control, can you say my name?" suggests a desire for the other person to take charge and make a move.

The chorus of the song reflects the intense emotional turmoil the singer is experiencing. The imagery of a "night of fire" and "sparks falling to the ground" suggests a heated passion that is ultimately unfulfilled. The line "how do you think you fit in?" highlights the uncertainty of where the relationship stands and if it even has a chance.

The repeated lines of "Can you be in control, can you stay the same?" emphasize the desire for consistency and stability within the relationship. The singer wants the other person to be in control but also wants them to remain the same person they were when the relationship began. The final lines of the song, "Close your eyes, pretend desire," suggest a sense of resignation and a willingness to settle for a surface-level connection instead of the deeper one they crave.

The released energy is pressure x volume. For the Titan incident that would be : 380 atm x 3,80 m3
We need to convert everything to metric system in order to get Joules as a result
(otherwise it is still correct, but the result will be some strange unused unit, difficult to compare to known values)

1 atm = 100,000 Newtons/m2 (approx.)
380 atm = 38,000,000 Newtons/m2 (3,800 tons per square meter, or about 2500 SUVs per square meter)
Energy = 3,8 m3 x 38 million Newtons/m2 = 144 million Newtons * m = 144 MJoule.
1kg of TNT = 4,6 MJoule.

So the implosion energy was order of 30 kg of TNT within that confined space.

Did Ocean gate going missing bring anyone else here?

Lau Vasquez

Yes!! I got curious. I believe there was a structural issue (like the hull breach) and they were crushed instantly.

I was looking up how pressure cook a ham at -13,000 ft.

Yea

Cody Cosser

Yes. Fascinating innit?

I believe the sub was crushed even faster.

If anyone wonders, the pressure of the ocean at the depth of Titanic where the Titan submersible imploded killing those 5 men is around 375 times that of our atmosphere, or roughly 5500-5600PSI. That amount pressure would basically turn you into mist before you even knew what happened, as sad and heartbreaking as their deaths were, if there is any comfort it’s that they didn’t even know what happened. One moment they were in the sub, then faster than you could even blink they were nothing. Zero pain, zero suffering.

You can't possibly know that though you don't know what happened
