Burnt Norton

Not many people now this but I used to be active on the cc forum back in 2009 to 2014. I remember this song was meant to have a tragic storyline like a mother drowning her child in a lake, and you can actually listen the kid yelling β€œMommy” around 2:26. I also remember that for this song Alice and Ethan made gargles in the studio to creating the song of someone being drowned. I miss those years of all the CC fanbase being so active and ofc i miss the band being together πŸ’”

"song of someone being drowned" kinda reminds me of Mr. Bungle's "The Bends", which is still one of the scariest pieces of music I've heard.

How is this so emotional? its just some electronic music and some weird alien noise, yet the way it makes me feel, I can't even begin to describe. I wonder if Alice and Ethan feel the same about this song and they did it with intent or if they were just screwing around and accidentally made it so unique. Either way I am so happy to have been able to experience it.

Humanoid distress signals, being communicated for the last time before all becomes frozen into mere chalk.

Love this song so deeply. Music doesn't need words to get to the heart.

The Karmic Brat

To me, the first part of the song is someone being attacked, doesn't matter if physically or emotionally, but it's this moment when a person's personal territory is invaded in such a way they can't even believe it's happening, so survival instincts kick in and that's why the beat is so fast. It's the beating of a stressed heart on high alert. The second part of the song is when it's all over, the aftermath, and the person is bathing in the horrible consequences of what happened and they're numb and confused. The main part is Alice's voice all distorted like, it's random cries from this person - towards the end it feels they muster enough presence of mind amid their feelings to shout something a bit more coherent. In the back is this slow, sad video game like tune, it just feels like the overall background mood of how this person feels. They're not fully aware of it anymore because it's such a constant feeling the mind compartmentalise it and so they don't fully notice anymore, and the main thing is just this... Soft crying in the aftermath.
