Nobody will read this but I hate how Crystal never got a fare shot at a western presence. She had 3 singles and a feature with Far East Movement. She even made an appearance in Travie McCoys “Rough Water”. Crystal can sang so it’s a shame that she didn’t get the Utada or BOA treatment. Unpopular opinion but she’s better than them 🙈

Even Utada got shafted in the US though. I think Exodus sold like 4k-5k in it's first week (I was part of that statistic. Walked into Tower records and bought it). Island Def Jam didn't seem to really promote it.
If it weren't for Kingdom Hearts, most people in the US. who know Utada wouldn't know Utada. (Not me. I'm one of the cool day one kids who already knew her.)
I still agree that Crystal deserves better though. Vivid was an amazing album that deserved stateside promotion.

BoA also didn’t do well in the west either but she tried. Utada did at least have two albums with Come Back To Me getting TV and radio play. Crystal didn’t really try though. She did a few songs that she didn’t promote and high jacked it back to Japan when she saw that it wasn’t as easy as she thought it would be. None in America gave Utada or BoA special treatment. They got about the same reaction except they both actually released albums while Crystal never did...

Ooooooo I agree complete!

That didn't stop Utada and BoA. I guess the Japanese Janet Jackson of Japan didn't want any criticism or competition with the "REAL" one. (I know she's half Korean, just talkin about her citizenship residence).

Ah man I played this song so many times. All these remastered versions of the videos have me on cloud 9 right now. I can't believe I'm just realizing this channel has all her videos in HD versions.
