1) Crystals was an Italian progressive rock band that was formed in 1973. Crystals functioned as a sort of supergroup, having several experienced and famous rock musicians in it. Their sound featured a blues-influenced hard rock style reminiscent of contemporaries such as Deep Purple. Crystals recorded one album in 1974 that was intended for release on the Cramps label. However, for mysterious reasons, it never appeared for years. Their work finally received a CD release in the 90s. The band's album is now regarded as an underground rock classic.
The supergroup featured former members of bands such as Premiata Forneria Marconi (Giorgio Piazza), Banco del Mutuo Soccorso (Marcello Todaro), Samadhi (Nanni Civitenga), and Alphataurus (Giorgio Santandrea). Those musicians were under the guidance of Paolo Tofani, formerly from Area. He composed all of their tracks.
2.) Crystals was an indie rock band from Belarus that was formed in August 2009. Their debut album, titled 'Revolution EP', came out on 5 February 2010. That five-track release is not to be confused with the Diplo album by the same name.
Please note that "The Crystals", which were one of the most successful girl groups of the early 60s, is unrelated to either band that are known as merely "Crystals". Please correct your tags if they are in error.
Uptown
Crystals Lyrics

And he goes downtown
Where everyone's his boss
And he's lost in an angry land
He's a little man
But then he comes uptown
Each ev'nin' to my tenement
To pay much rent
And when he's there with me
He can see that he's everything
Then he's tall, he don't crawl
He's a king
Downtown he's just one of a million guys
He don't get no breaks
And he takes all they got to give
'Cause he's got to live
But then he comes uptown
Where he can hold his head up high
Uptown he knows that I am standing by
And when I take his hand
There's no man who could put him down
The world is sweet
It's at his feet when he's uptown
Whoa oh oh oh, oh oh oh
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah
Let me tell ya now
Uptown where he can hold his head up high
Uptown he knows that I am standing by
And when I take his hand
There's no man who could put him down
The world is sweet, it's at his feet
When he's uptown
Whoa oh oh oh, oh oh oh
Yeah yeah, yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah
Let me tell ya now, uptown
The lyrics to the Crystals' song Uptown paint a vivid picture of a man who is struggling to make it in the world. Each morning, he heads downtown to a job where he is just another face in the crowd, a little man lost in an angry land. But in the evenings, he comes uptown to be with the singer, where he can hold his head up high, knowing that he is loved and supported. In uptown, he is no longer a little man but a king, tall, proud, and powerful.
The lyrics speak to the deep human need for connection and support, especially during difficult times. They suggest that wealth and power may be fleeting, but the love and support of the people around us can make us feel strong and invincible. The song also touches on themes of social class and inequality, as the man is able to escape the harsh realities of downtown life only by retreating to a poorer neighborhood where he can afford to live.
Line by Line Meaning
He gets up each morning
Every morning he wakes up
And he goes downtown
He goes to the part of the city where businesses are located
Where everyone's his boss
He feels like he has no control over his day-to-day life
And he's lost in an angry land
He feels stuck in a hostile environment
He's a little man
Despite his hard work, he feels insignificant in his city life
But then he comes uptown
However, when he comes to my neighborhood
Each ev'nin' to my tenement
Every evening he comes to my apartment building
Uptown where folks don't have
In my neighborhood where people do not have to pay
To pay much rent
As much for rent as downtown
And when he's there with me
When he is together with me
He can see that he's everything
He realizes his worth
Then he's tall, he don't crawl
He feels empowered and confident
He's a king
He feels in control of his life and like royalty
Downtown he's just one of a million guys
In the city center, he feels like he is just another anonymous citizen
He don't get no breaks
He does not receive any special treatment
And he takes all they got to give
He endures anything that comes his way
'Cause he's got to live
He endures it all because he needs to survive
Where he can hold his head up high
In my neighborhood, he can feel proud and confident
He knows that I am standing by
He feels supported by my presence
And when I take his hand
When we are together, and I am with him
There's no man who could put him down
No one can bring him down or make him feel inferior
The world is sweet
Everything feels right
It's at his feet when he's uptown
He feels on top of the world when he is with me

I should start my day with this song. Don't know why, just gives me a positive outlook. Great song from a great time before the world changed in so many ways.

This could never be done today, the talent does not exist vocally arrangement wise and lyrics wise. An amazing time of music creation that thank God is preserved for all to hear. The crystals chiffons Orlons Marvelettes and so many more girl groups sang their hearts out.

This song may be a positive difference in my life Thank you Phil specter and your crystals
