In 1980 Cuban's father emigrated from Cuba to the United States, eventually settling in the New York City borough of the Bronx. Cuban Link quickly learned English, and was immediately infuenced by early hip-hop culture. Cuban began writing lyrics at the age of 15 and became friends with fellow Latin rappers Triple Seis and Big Punisher. Their friendship was close; in 1994 when Cuban Link was stabbed, he considered giving up rapping. Big Pun encouraged him, and convinced him to continue.
Bronx rapper Fat Joe soon recruited the three into the group Terror Squad, and began to make ripples in the New York hip-hop scene, receiving recognition from world-famous rappers like Nas, who quoted their lyrics back to them when they first met.
Cuban was first heard alongside Big Pun on the 1997 single "Off the Books", and made numerous appearances on Pun's platinum "Capital Punishment". He was also heard on the Terror Squad tracks "Bet Ya Man Can't" and "Tell Me What You Want".
When Big Pun died in 2000, Cuban released his first solo single, "Flowers For The Dead", as a tribute to Pun. It was shortly afterward that Cuban Link began disagreeing with Fat Joe on manegerial decisions and their infamous problem began.
Cuban Link's latest album Chain Reaction was released on the August 16, 2005, and features guest appearances from The Game, Jadakiss, and Mya.

She's scandalous (she's scandalous)
So bad for me (so bad for me)
I can't handle this (I can't handle this)
Yeah, yo, bori, shorty's a naughty one
All she wants is a forty and a blunt (fuck yeah)
A naughty is a front, just to get the party crunk
So rump, shake and reggaetΓ³n, and some puerto rican rum
A thong and a pair of pumps to freak it when she's drunk
And it's done, I got it all recorded by the tons
Even caught it in her buns for the right amount of funds
She stunts just for the fun of it, her story's just to front
For the chumps, I'm the one who taught her how to hump
How to pump, how to bump and grind, no frontin from behind
How to become a dime, she had to be one of a kind
Now she's something fine, sweeter than Dunkin Hines
Try to pump your mind up to sign on the dotted line
And I ain't having it, she's only for the bagging it
And stabbing it, the broad seen more draws than a cabinet
To put a cap in it, she tapped the whole hood
Like any ho would, I tell ya, she no good
She's scandalous (she's scandalous)
So bad for me (so bad for me)

Yo girl, you part of my fam, you my man
Understand nigga, handle this
The word in Los Angeles is she banging in sandwiches
I'm in and then ran the triz, she's taking a gang of dicks
Far from them amateurs, I start with a scandalous nature
Ain't nothing you can do about it, 'cause you already knew about it
'Fore you even started, and you're still tryin to change her
I'll turn in your lawyer, goddess don't be modest
Whatever she wanted she got it, but she still went on and played ya
And now you want to pout about it, thought that she was 'bout it, 'bout it
Gave her your heart, but she just wanted your paper
I told you you could do without it, you was just a fool who doubt it
But you went at it, don't worry about it (we good)

I could've sworn that we blazed before
Back in the days on tour
Shorty I know you
Now I knew I seen her face before
She was that crazy broad
Who went and blazed the whole crew
I don't have to trace her face no more
I rest my case I'm sure, girl you know it's true (yeah, yeah)

The song "Scandalous" by Cuban Link and Don Omar talks about a woman who is scandalous and bad for them, but they can't resist her. They fear not seeing her anymore because they are so obsessed with her. The lyrics also describe the woman as someone who is just in it for the money and the party scene. The two artists rap about how they have seen her type before and know that they can't change her behavior.
The song is an example of the reggaeton genre, which originated in Puerto Rico in the early 1990s. The genre incorporates elements of hip-hop, Latin American and Caribbean music, and reggae. The song also features a collaboration between Cuban Link, who is from Cuba, and Don Omar, who is from Puerto Rico. This collaboration is important because it shows how reggaeton has become a fusion genre that brings together different cultures.
