Rich And Strange
Cud Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm never fed up,
Because I'm made up,
Head full of loose change,
Because I'm rich and strange.

Holy moses, here we go again,
Headlong into some crazy scheme,
Success no more a pipe dream,
You must remember how,
Wow is to wow,
And a kiss is just too much.

From the cellar of my house comes a bellowing,
It's the tired and lonely tigers that I've kept there,
I can't imagine who the landlord's expecting,
They've been in their since June last year,
You must remember when,
You loved me like a friend,
And a kiss is just too much baby.

You must remember that,

I'm fat but I know where it's at,
And a kiss would be too much baby, let's get out of this town.

Overall Meaning

The song "Rich And Strange" by Cud is a commentary on the state of mind of the singer. The first verse reveals a sense of contentment that the singer finds in the fact that they are unique, even if that means they have a "head full of loose change." The second verse paints a picture of the singer's ambition, where they are willing to dive headlong into a crazy scheme to achieve success. However, the singer reminds themselves, and the listeners, that success is not just about material possessions but also about finding joy in life's simple pleasures, such as being wowed and kissing a friend.

@@CUDband. Well if you swing by North Carolina, you'll not put your hand in your pocket that night!

@KevinBrownAZ

You have a very warm invite to play in Phoenix, Arizona. HUGE UK contingent here and San Diego. I vividly remember your Dec 15, 1990 London New Cross concert! ~1,800 and the floor was bouncing 2-3 feet and throwing us all in the air. My 32nd birthday - perhaps you might remember the free pints all night long from the owner?
