Cuentos Borgeanos Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
las cosas que no olvidé,
el juego que no entendí,
no.
No, no quiero dejarlo así,
tu cuerpo escapándose,
y yo en el silencio que
Para despertar, para descubrir
animales nos alejan.
Frío si venís, frío si te vas,
sigo el viento donde me lleva.
Ven, los días fugándose
de mis manos una ilusión,
porque lo que abruma es
desaparecer.
The lyrics of "Animales" by Cuentos Borgeanos are both introspective and layered. At first glance, it seems to be about holding onto memories, particularly ones that may be painful or confusing. The lines "No, no quiero dejarlo así, las cosas que no olvidé, el juego que no entendí, no" suggest that the singer is trying to make sense of something that happened in the past, but is struggling to do so. The repetition of "no" emphasizes the singer's determination not to let it go.
As the song progresses, however, it becomes clear that there is a sense of loss at play. Sueños queman mi habitación y todo lo que sé, lo que sé" feel like a surrender to the inevitable passing of time. The animals mentioned in the chorus could be interpreted as memories or experiences that slip away, no matter how hard we try to hold onto them. The singer is resigned to the idea that some things can't be kept forever.
Overall, "Animales" feels like a meditation on the fleeting nature of existence. We all want to hold onto the things that matter most to us, but ultimately, time and circumstance conspire to take them away. The metaphor of animals that "nos alejan" (take us away) is poignant and evocative.
