Cuentos Borgeanos Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics to Cuentos Borgeanos's song "Postales" explore the themes of nostalgia, growth, and survival. The opening lines "Si miro atras, y cuento el tiempo que perdí" ("If I look back, and count the time I've lost") establish the reflective and pensive mood of the song. The singer reminisces about the places they've been and the cities and landscapes they've seen, but acknowledges that these memories are fleeting and easily lost in the vastness of time and space. The phrase "somos sueños, perdiéndose" ("we are dreams, being lost") emphasizes the transience and fragility of life.
Despite this, the chorus declares that "sobrevivir es como amar, postales del alma" ("surviving is like loving, postcards of the soul"). The idea is that even though life is uncertain and fleeting, the memories we create and the people we love are what make it meaningful. The lines "Que se quedaran como manchas en el alba" ("that will remain like stains in the dawn") suggests that even as time passes, these memories will linger, leaving their mark on us. The closing lines "prefiero verme en el hoy" ("I prefer to see myself in the present") suggest that, while it's important to reflect on the past, it's equally important to appreciate the present and keep moving forward.
