Cujo Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It's the day when the end begins,
No shining for me my friend.
I'm the man who's seen the past,
No hiding from me my friend.
I'm free alone in my bed,
No prison to me my friend.
From the mountain top in my head, I see the face of what's to come.
'Cause I'm not a well man, not a well man at all.
Because I'm not a well man, not a well man at all.

And I see them coming, across the water.
Soldiers, soldiers from hell, and
And I see them coming, across the ocean.
Help me, help me stand now.
I see them coming around the corner,
Devils, devils, from heaven, and
And I see them coming, across the ocean.
Help me, help me stand now.

And it's the day when the end begins,
No shining for me my friend.
'Cause I'm the man who's seen the past,
No hiding from me my friend.
I'm free alone in my bed,
No prison to me my friend.
In the mountain top in my head, I see the face of what's to come.

'Cause I'm not a well man, not a well man at all.
Because I'm not a well man, not a well man at all.

I knew the future would not last,
I thought the past went by too fast.
I feel the present's always slow,
The things I've learnt, it's time to show.

Listen to me, my protégé.

Now come sit close, I don't have long.
You will live on when I am gone.
In my eyes is what you'll see,
In my wake is how you'll be.

Listen to me, my protégé.

Listen to me, my protégé.
Listen to me, my protégé.
Listen to me ...

Listen to me, my protégé.
Listen to me, my protégé.
Listen to me ...my protégé.

Listen to me, my protégé.

Listen to me, my protégé.
Listen to me...

Overall Meaning

The song "3" by Cujo discusses the end of the world and the impending doom that the singer sees coming. He declares that he is not well and has seen too much of the past, making it difficult to hide from what he knows is coming. He describes soldiers from hell and devils from heaven coming from across the water and the ocean, and pleads for help. However, he also acknowledges that he is free from prison and sees what is to come from the mountain top in his head. He then speaks to his protégé, urging them to listen to him closely and learn from his experiences, as they will be the ones to carry on after he is gone.

The lyrics of this song are fairly cryptic and open to interpretation. It could be seen as a commentary on the current state of the world and the inevitability of war and destruction. The singer seems to be resigned to their fate and is trying to impart their knowledge to someone else before it is too late. The use of soldiers from hell and devils from heaven could also be seen as a metaphor for the different forces at play in the world, good and evil, and the struggle for power between them.

If she had, it’d be like:
Donna: (to Brett) Did you notice his nose?
Brett: What do you mean?
Donna: He's got a wound on his nose.
Brett: Hmm. It looks pretty nasty.
Donna: Perhaps you should call his veterinarian, in case he was bitten by a rabid animal.
Tad: Rabbit animal?
Brett: Not “rabbit”, “rabid”. It’s the term for an animal that has rabies.
Tad: Rabies?
Donna: It’s a viral infection that animals can pass on to humans or other animals by biting. It affects the brain, causing changes in behavior, body systems, and makes them more sensitive to noise and light.
Brett: It can cause death if not treated.
Tad: Sounds like a nasty disease. How do you know if an animal has it?
Donna: Well, animals that have rabies usually foam at the mouth, display aggression, and experience occasional spasms and health problems.
Tad: (glancing at Cujo with concern) How long does it take before he shows signs of the infection?
Donna: You mean symptoms? About a day or two.
Brett: Mom?
Charity: Yes, Brett?
Brett: Mrs. Trenton thinks that Cujo was bitten by a rabid animal of some kind.
Charity: (looks at the bite on Cujo’s nose) Well, I’ll call his veterinarian.
(half an hour later, Cujo’s veterinarian arrives)
Veterinarian: (inspecting the bite) It appears he was bitten by a rabid bat. Not to worry, I’m giving him a rabies shot right now.
Brett: Hold still, Cujo. (he whines as the needle is injected)
Veterinarian: Well, he should be fine now. But from now on, try to keep a closer eye on him and keep him away from wild animals that may have rabies. Oh, and this rabies vaccination will cost $150. I’ll expect you at the animal hospital tomorrow for the payment.
(she departs)

Fun fact it wasn’t all Cujo there was a man in a St. Bernard suit who also did a lot of the stunts since the original dog was too nice they had to pin his tail down because he was wagging it so mug. He seemed like a very sweet boy and I love St Bernard’s

2:57 Cujo kissing Tad was the scene that broke me. Poor dog, he wasn't a monster. He was just sick.

Maria Garcia

I'm completely upset they didn't take him to the vet

huffle puff

From what I know, the main dog they used was named Moe,and in some scenes they had to tie his tail to his leg because he was just so happy to be there and wouldnt stop wagging

Lexi Hunnel

huffle puff wouldn’t

2:00, I always thought it was kind of rude for the mom to automatically assume the dog was dangerous. Doesn’t she know St. Bernards have a reputation as gentle animals?
