Curren$y had an underground hit in 2006, Where Da Cash At, which can be heard on several of Lil' Wayne's mixtapes, including Dedication 2. He was featured on Lil Wayne's song "Grown Man" from the album Tha Carter II. Due to certain issues concerning the release of his album Music 2 Fly 2, he left Young Money and formed his Fly Society crew with professional skateboarder and rapper Terry Kennedy.
He has since focused on his Jets movement, which helped introduce various rappers such as Trademark da Skydiver, Young Roddy, Fendi P and T.Y., as well as slightly reintroduce No Limit veteran Fiend to new audiences. He later started to work in New York with Ski Beatz and other MCs at Dame Dash's DD172; where he released Pilot Talk and its sequel Pilot Talk II both in 2010, and was also featured on several songs on Ski Beatz' 24 Hour Karate School. Since then, Curren$y has put out eight more albums, 25 EPs and 43 mixtapes.

New Jet City
Curren$y Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The belief in the entrepreneurial spirit
The new American dream
A toast, a toast to my family, my life
True that
()
Uh, I wrote this sitting in the back of that triple black
My Cuban link cables prove Iβ²m in the majors, a prime time playa
High quality rhymes
Earned these wages, allowed me to make wagers
Double your life savings, we on yacht's waving
Champagne cases, cocaine traces found
Sippin from the speakers when the base kicked
Hella baked, dropping these tapes, raking cakes in
Millions my nigga, keep that under like the basement
Engine running on that spaceship
She sexing like woman, speeding like a bullet
Donβ²t pull up to it
How I'm bout you, won't race it
I went to class with the craftsman who made this
Upper class shit fresher than minks
At the event, Iβ²m king sunning these rappers, I make you prince
New Jet City
()
Yea Uh To stand in front this money train doesnβ²t make sense
I never hustled with no lames, why would I begin?
I'm surviving in the game, where many donβ²t win
But losing ain't my name and thatβ²s one of them
I'm ripping wood grain, got a journal full of strint
Listening to max beat, wishing he was free
But he not so we smoke a whole ounce for Gangrene
Jet life motherfucker, we the A Team
No van, thatβ²s a Lamb, that's them wings
There's a difference between a plan and a scheme
Make sure your crew all true to the same things
New Jet City
(Interlude)
Eh la la la la la la la la
Life
Eh la la la la la la la la
()
Rhythm is enough for them
Hard up, this enough for them
New Jet City
Jet life
Jet life
Yea
