Your growing need to just let go and fall
Believe a lie we can repair
But through your smile I am aware of it all
We close our eyes
We close our eyes
We close our eyes
For the rest of the night
Let's pretend everything is alright
'Cause tomorrow I know
That I won't wanna let you go (ohh)
Sadness is building in my heart
I'm so afraid to let it start the fall
Letting this just continue on
Guilt starts to surface far beyond my love (yeah)
We close our eyes
We close our eyes
We close our eyes
Screaming out one more time
For the rest of the night
Let's pretend everything is alright
'Cause tomorrow I know
That I won't wanna let you go (ohh)
I can't let you go (ohh)
(Uhhh)
I can't believe this ain't love anymore (yeah)
(Uhhh)
I gotta retrieve what we lost
Through it all
Bring it back to whole
For the rest of the night
Let's pretend everything is alright
'Cause tomorrow I know
That I won't wanna let you go (ohh)
For the rest of the night
Let's pretend everything is alright
'Cause tomorrow I know
That I won't wanna let you go (ohh)
I can't let you go (ohh)
(Ohh, yeah, ohh, yeah, ohh, yeah, ohh, ohh, ohh, ohh, ohh)
The lyrics of Curtis Peoples's song "One More Time" suggest a relationship that is struggling with hidden emotions, a sense of guilt, and the need to fall in love again. The song opens with the line, "Change of your hair, let's me know, your growing need to just let go and fall." This line implies that Curtis's partner may be going through some changes, symbolized by a change in their hair, and becoming disconnected with their current life. They want to let go of everything and fall in love again.
As the song continues, Curtis describes how he "Believes a lie we can repair, but through your smile I am aware of it all." This line suggests that there is something going on that both partners are aware of, but they are too afraid to speak about it. Curtis knows that there is something his partner is hiding behind her smile, and it is tearing their relationship apart.
The chorus of the song emphasizes the importance of living in the moment, even if it's just for one more night. The line, "For the rest of the night, let's pretend everything is alright, 'Cause tomorrow I know that I won't wanna let you go" suggests that Curtis wants to hold onto the love he has for his partner, even if it's only for one night.
In summary, "One More Time" is a romantic song about a relationship struggling with hidden emotions, guilt, and the need to fall in love again. The lyrics suggest that Curtis is aware that there is something wrong, but they are both too afraid to address it. Instead, they want to hold onto the love they have, at least for one more night.
