Adam
Cynic Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Feet to hip
Leaf to breast
Throat to brain
And skin arrange

Now we're one soul

Reviving memories
To every blade of grass, the universal path
A primal energy
A creation is born, unsympathetic chords

Hearing Adam's murmur
A Sanskrit alphabet
Unholy apple tree
Seven flowers

Feet to hip
Leaf to breast
Throat to brain
And skin arrange

holes in our trunks
I tap her to test
Harmony within
A merciful creation

Hearing Adam's murmur
A Sanskrit alphabet
Unholy apple tree
Seven flowers

Feet to hip
Leaf to breast
Throat to brain
And skin arrange

Feet to hip
Leaf to breast
Blood to brain
And skin arrange

Now we're one soul

Overall Meaning

The lyrics in "Adam's Murmur" by Cynic provide a visual representation of the unity of souls and their connection to nature. The lines "Feet to hip, Leaf to breast, Throat to brain, And skin arrange" convey the idea that all parts of the human body are connected and intertwined, just like the way leaves of a tree are connected to the tree trunk or how the throat and brain are connected through the breath. The lyrics suggest that this connection is what makes us one soul and shapes our being.

The lyrics also touch upon the idea of memory and its connection to nature. The lines "Reviving memories to every blade of grass, the universal path" suggest that the natural world holds memories that can be reawakened through our connection to it. The lyrics mention a "primal energy" that connects us to creation, implying that we are not just separate entities but part of a larger existence. The use of religious and mythical imagery - "Unholy apple tree," "Seven flowers" - adds to the spiritual tone of the lyrics.

Overall, "Adam's Murmur" is a song that celebrates the interconnectedness of life and existence, and urges us to appreciate and cherish our connection to nature and each other.

i swear this is the only band of death methal i like and i can't consider it just music, it's magic

@champayne17

Why is this not as popular as other bands? Seriously, normally I would bring up how much more technical and musically impressive than mainstream bands, but I understand the average listener doesn't care. But that doesn't even matter, it's so catchy, even if you don't think of it as complex music.

@GhostDoG8550

I don't think there's any safe haven on YouTube anymore. Every comment board has been lit up with arguments. I can barely hear what Adam's murmuring over all the commotion.
