Opowieść
Cztery Refy Lyrics

Wychyl tę szklankę i opowiedz nam
Gdzie błądzisz myślami czy morze jest tam
Podniósł siwiutką swą głowę
I mocnym spojrzeniem nas zdjął
I chociaż chłopy z nas zdrowe
Niejednemu hardemu kark zgiął
A potem rozpoczął opowieść
O życiu złapanym przez wiatr
Jak samemu sobie chciał dowieść
Że ocean to jego brat
Gdy skończył rzekł Słuchajcie dobrze
By życia nie strawić jak ja
Rzućcie kotwicę na lądzie
Niechaj morze zostanie wam w snach
I wtedy jeden z nas spytał
The lyrics to "Opowieść" by Cztery Refy tell the story of a tavern where many travelers have come and gone. The location of the tavern, whether it's in Boston or Belfast, is ultimately unimportant. The singer describes how he has seen many wanderers come and go, but there is one person who stood out - someone whose time seemed to have stopped.
The singer urges the others to pour some wine, as their throats are dry. He points to a corner where a man, who is more like a wreck than a human, sits. The lines on his face tell the story of his fate, his hands tremble, and his voice is not the same. The singer tells him to look around, as he is surrounded by people hungry for the salt of his words. The man is urged to raise his glass and tell them where his thoughts wander, whether there is an ocean in his mind.
The man lifts his gray head and with a piercing gaze, he captivates them all. Despite their tough exterior, he has humbled many strong men. He begins his tale of a life caught by the wind, and how he wanted to prove to himself that the ocean is his brother. When he finishes, he advises them to listen carefully and not waste their lives like he did. He tells them to drop anchor on land and let the sea remain in their dreams.
One of the men then asks him if he could do it all over again, would he still fly away to the sea. The song ends with the reminder of the man sitting in the corner, with the lines etched by fate on his face, his trembling hands, and a voice no longer the same. He doesn't say anything more, but they know exactly what he felt.

Jest gdzieś na pewno tawerna
There must be a tavern somewhere
Na pewno bo wiele jest ich
Certainly, because there are many of them
Czy Boston to czy też Belfast
Whether it's Boston or Belfast
To nie ma znaczenia już dziś
It doesn't matter anymore today
W półmroku przy dębowych ławach
In the twilight by the oak benches
Wędrowców widziałem nie raz
I have seen wanderers many times
Lecz każdy się zaraz oddalał
But everyone immediately went away
Tylko jemu zatrzymał się czas
Only time stopped for him
Postawcie choć wino bo gardeł nam brak
Pour at least wine because our throats are dry
Popatrzcie tam w kącie nie człowiek lecz wrak
Look in the corner, not a man but a wreck
Na twarzy bruzdami podpisał się los
Fate is written on his face with wrinkles
Ręce mu drżą i już nie ten głos
His hands tremble and his voice is no longer the same
Hej Stary spójrz wkoło otoczył Cię znów
Hey old man, look around, you are surrounded again
Krąg ludzi spragnionych soli Twych słów
A circle of people thirsty for your words
Wychyl tę szklankę i opowiedz nam
Raise that glass and tell us
Gdzie błądzisz myślami czy morze jest tam
Where do you wander in your thoughts, is the sea there
Podniósł siwiutką swą głowę
He raised his gray head
I mocnym spojrzeniem nas zdjął
And with a strong gaze, he took us off
I chociaż chłopy z nas zdrowe
And although we, lads, are healthy
Niejednemu hardemu kark zgiął
He bent many a tough neck
A potem rozpoczął opowieść
And then he began a tale
O życiu złapanym przez wiatr
About a life captured by the wind
Jak samemu sobie chciał dowieść
How he wanted to prove to himself
Że ocean to jego brat
That the ocean is his brother
Gdy skończył rzekł Słuchajcie dobrze
When he finished, he said Listen well
By życia nie strawić jak ja
To not waste life like me
Rzućcie kotwicę na lądzie
Throw the anchor on land
Niechaj morze zostanie wam w snach
Let the sea remain in your dreams
I wtedy jeden z nas spytał
And then one of us asked
A gdybyś tak mógł jeszcze raz
What if you could start over again
Życie na nowo ułożyć
Arrange life anew
Czy wtedy też w morze byś zwiał
Would you still flee to the sea then
Wtem dobiegł szum fali łza spadła na stół
Suddenly the sound of the wave reached, a tear fell on the table
Nie mówił już nic lecz wiemy co czuł
He didn't say anything anymore, but we know what he felt
